For many sitcoms back in the day, success was judged on whether or not there was a Christmas special, and the slot it held. Falling in Love again starts the love affair we had with Christmas Birds of a Feather. A somewhat zany plot from Peter Tilbury sees the girls having to travel to Germany to obtain a valuable Messerschmitt car in order to pay of Chris's debts, and stave off the aggressive McCarthy family.
The story focuses on Tracy, and how she falls in love with hunky German mechanic Manfred, the effect he has on her world, and her love for Darryll. Most of the laughs come from Sharon, and her TV date Barry, a clueless, boring Geordie. Sharon meant to fall in love, Tracy does.
Stephen Grief only got to play Marcus once, but he was great, exactly as I picture him. Fans of Are you being served will recognise Sharon's show competitor Jennifer Guy, who played Miss Hirst, she's virtually the same character, but very glamorous.
Lots of laughs, the characters are now very lovable. 9/10
