A superb film which represents the whole of World war 2
This is, without doubt, one of the finest, if not the finest, films to come out of Great Britain as a result of World War 2.If I knew approximately the date of my death, this is last film I would like to see before I died,as well as the 'Dam Busters' theme , composed by Eric Coates, to be played at my funeral. The screenplay is imaginative and well written and the acting professional. The sequences of the Lancasters flying, when there were still many in service is historical and important for future generations. At this time I believe there is only one flying.I met Richard Todd, who played Guy Gibson, some years ago,(1987) when he visited Sydney, and secured his autograph when he appeared in 'The Woman In Black' at the Sydney Opera House. I believe this film, 'The Dam Busters', epitomizes the courage and bravery and selflessness of all those who took part in the war, in this case, World war 2. If one film could present the spirit of the War this would be the one. There are many films that could be considered, of course, but this would be my choice.
