Warning: Spoilers
I said in my review of the first episode that Between the Lines was the granddaddy of Line of Duty.

It's not just because they were made by the same production company.

The 12th episode begins to tie up several threads. It also dangles new ones. All roads lead to the Carswell affair and a top policeman who is corrupt.

Superintendent Urquhart is arrested near King's Cross station while picking up a prostitute in his car.

CIB are immediately notified. Commander Huxtable knows Urquhart is a big catch. There have been rumours about him for years regarding corruption since his days in the vice squad.

Clark examines Urquhart's finances, his plush house is more than his salary could afford. Urquhart's wife has a successful business but her main client is Dennis Ralston, a porn baron.

Urquhart thinks he is fireproof. More importantly he offers someone more senior who is pulling the strings.

Clark also finds out that the prostitute picked up by Urquhart witnessed the murder linked to the Carswell affair.

The episode teases potential top cops who could be corrupt as Deakin tells Clark that no one is fireproof.

However for one person it is the end of the road. Ever since the first episode one character was in a no win situation.

A terrific episode, this is the way to do a penultimate episode and lead up to the finale.
