The Moonlight Girls
A swanky dinner party is taking place in a hotel. Charlie Hungerford is among the guests and Marianne is hobnobbing with some movers and shakers from a financial conference she has organised.
Among the guests are a couple of call girls. One of them Simone who originated from Belgium is found dead the next day, seemingly thrown from a horse.
Simone worked as a stable girl but no one remembers her actually working at the stables. Her father arrives to reclaim the body and he is an austere priest.
Jim Bergerac uncovers a call girl ring in Jersey and Simone was not thrown from a horse. Somebody is covering up how she died.
I was rather surprised that the Jersey police did not know there were call girls in the island. Especially when Diamante Lil knew where they hung about. Another surprise, Charlie has a smaller role in this episode.
It was a nice mystery with several people acting mysteriously like they had something to hide. The episode features a nice soundtrack as well including Patti Smith's version of Because the Night.
