"Copy Cat" poses an interesting problem, that an assailant would have the nerve to commit crimes seen on TV cop shows. Nick diligently searches through the TV Guide for evidence and tells Barney ("Lucy just found out she was pregnant, she doesn't know how to tell Ricky!"). Barney continues the conversation with Dietrich (Dietrich: "come up with anything?" Barney: "only that Lucy is pregnant!" Dietrich: "that Charlie Brown's the devil, isn't he?"). Angelo Dodi (Don Calfa, second of seven) is arrested after an incident in the subway, while Dietrich convinces him that real cops aren't the supermen depicted on TV ("and that's the name of that tune!"). While Harris struggles to find a suitable apartment, Wojo is delighted to finally pass his sergeant's exam, but depressed to get the same assignments (Barney: "it's natural to have a letdown after an emotional high point, it's like, it's like after you, uh..." Wojo: "fool around?" Barney: "that's an example!" Wojo: "well, this is worse...it took me eight years to make sergeant...I fool around all the time!"). John Dullaghan (third of ten) plays drunk Harold Burrell, who tried to knock over a liquor store with nothing but a loaded finger. This is quite a surprise to his AA friend, Roy Jenkins (Norman Bartold, first of five), who insists that alcoholism is not a crime but a disease (Jenkins: "you really needed to drink that bad?" Burrell: "oh no, that's what I do for a living, I mean it just never came up in the meetings!"). Don Sherman (first of two) is the coffee shop owner who first brings the copy cat crook to Nick's attention, reporting how he claimed to have dynamite in his pants and was prepared to 'blow the roof off' (Yemana: "among other things!").
