"Agent Orange," the second of Paul Lieber's three episodes as new detective Eric Dorsey (who brought in his toaster!), begins with Wojo booking Vietnam veteran Gerald Serrano (Louis Giambalvo, first of two) on an attempted liquor store holdup, who reveals that he hasn't had a steady job since his wartime service in the Air Force. He blames his various ailments on being exposed to Agent Orange, a mixture of herbicides frequently dropped on the Viet Cong (several thousand gallons over a nine year period). Being a Vietnam vet himself, Wojo seeks a solution by calling in Air Force Captain Ronald Dupre (Robert Phalen), Len Macready from the Veterans Administration (Lyman Ward, first of two), and Peter Rankin from Fresher Chemical (Joe Regalbuto, first of two), which has a frustrated Captain Miller wondering why he didn't bother to phone Nixon (Wojo: "he wasn't home!"). Unfortunately, no one can offer any easy answers for the inherent problems associated with the use of Agent Orange. Making their third and final appearance together as the argumentative Brauers are Doris Roberts (last of four) and Peter Hobbs (last of six), as Harriet objects to their apartment building's new policy regarding clothing as 'optional' (their flier says 'grin and bare it!'). Phillip Brauer takes to new challenges better than his wife, while the building manager (Michael Currie) is warned about keeping things decent 'in all areas visible to the general public.'
