I really don't like this Mark Shera character at all. I already didn't like him back when they aired reruns of SWAT. WHY exactly does Barnaby need a caretaker? It looks ridiculous. Is he nurse? "Time to take your medicine"? I don't get it.
And boy! Was Lynne Marta typecast or what?! She plays the same nasty, evil woman throughout every old TV show I tune in. "Evil, spiteful, jealous woman commits murder, looks at everyone with her evil, justified eyes." At least, she looked a bit younger (and NICER) in her first few scenes, to the point I didn't recognize her at first.
Otherwise, it's an O. K episode with a blonde who looks like a 70's C. C. Babcock (from The Nanny). Jones has been wearing the same suit jacket, shirt and tie in the past 3 episodes, at least. They just gave him a blue one but the problem is it's patterned with skinny stripes so that his lapels are causing a weird pink and blue flashing rainbow on-camera, hurting my eyes.
We have avocado curtains. All 70's TV shows had avocado curtains, or wall paint or carpet and even avocado fridges, kitchen counters and vases. A midly boring show, but then again, most 70s TV shows ere like that. It's a step above Cannon, this one is better filmed than Mannix. Watch it if you woke up at 4:00 AM like I did.
There's Lynne Marta and her Marilyn mole doing Lynne Marta things again, 5 min from the end. Very predictable but she did her thing and earned a paycheck. Pity she never had her own series. Somme of these recurring guest stars, you have to wonder after a while, why they never got their own show. Always a guest, never a star! She even guest starred in David Soul's life, never married her, though: he was already married to Carolyn Carlson. Makes you wonder if she pulled a Lynne Marta on him, too? (Or her.) The end.
