- TriviaElmo mentions using the $500 left to the church to buy a pool table to put in the basement for when the men's club meets. Emmett agrees and suggests they have tournaments. Losers buy the beer. Yet again, more evidence that Mayberry is no longer a dry county like in the earlier episodes.
- GoofsAfter aunt Bee tells Andy that unless the choir gets the willed money for the robes the group will disband, he tells her that "the church has ALWAYS had a choir."
But in an earlier episode, "The Church Organ," there is no choir, nor even a part of the church with a tiered section for one.

Ladies come off looking bad.
$37.50 in 1968 money seems high for simple cheap robes. The ladies who all sew could have made their own robes for a pittance. Multiple versions could be made. Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier) came off bitter & mean especially for showing her teeth in the church. You'd think more research would go into the water dumping to make it failsafe. Elmo (Vince Barnett) was the funniest with the best bit about the pool table. Shame the Elmo character wasn't used more. Some interesting camera work as the series nears it's end. Rare TAGS dark humor in the daring epilogue from Emmett (Paul Hartman). Strong well written bounce back from two horrendous episodes.
