If this is season 7, then Opie is in the 7th grade, correct? 7th graders would be playing on a field with 70 foot bases, not 60.
In the picture that Helen shows Aunt Bee of the controversial play, the way the play is depicted does not look like what actually happened. In the game, the catcher blocked the plate as Opie was sliding in and tagged him over top of him. The photograph shows Opie sliding into home plate with the catcher reaching for the tag from a distance, which is clearly not how it occurred.
In one of the scenes at Floyd's Barber Shop, the calendar on the wall shows it is February, a little early to be playing a championship baseball game.
When Opie, Aunt Bee, Helen, and Andy are in the living room reviewing the photographs taken by Helen at the ballgame, Andy comments that they are 'color' yet it is obvious that they are black and white. The only color picture is shown in a close-up shot, and that picture is pivotal to the plot.
For Helen to have taken the picture showing that Opie was safe she would have had to have been standing in the batter's box, with that camera and no zoom. Plus, there was a screen between her and the field, which does not show on the picture.
