Warning: Spoilers
The ending of this episode was absolutely ridiculous. Helen Crump was arrested for having a gun in her purse, at an illegal gambling casino, in the company of a notorious hoodlum. The excuse? She was writing a thesis on organized crime for her Master's Degree in Journalism. That's right up there with Austin Powers claiming the penis enlargement device wasn't his. Or, "Honest, officer, that wasn't my kilo of cocaine. I was just writing a thesis on drug abuse for my Master's Degree." She was not only found not guilty but the Mayberry school board that was investigating the matter actually apologized. This is probably the worst writing in the entire 8 year series. At least its the only episode that prompted me to write a derogatory review. Of course an ending where she was working undercover for the police would have been too predictable. Its how I thought the episode would end. Predictable, yes, but at least it wouldn't have been STUPID!

Andy has poor judgement multiple times.

TAGS masterfully blends a serious subject with zany humor. Funniest part is loose lips Goober getting outsmarted by Mrs Pendleton (Ruth McDevitt). George Lindsey has used the won't talk bit numerous times all gems. Andy's mistrust of Helen escalated the situation into a near disaster. Then he leaves confidential material on his desk for snoops to see. Dropping of charges seemed not enough detail to totally clear up the matter. What did Helen do? Finger the mob? In she in hiding? Helen was really forgiving. Andy deserved to get dumped. Helen (Aneta Corsaut) really was wearing some cute & expensive looking outfits.

GOOBER'S BIG MOUTH AGAIN!
JSGal21 July 2021
All I got out of this episode is the fact that I just wanted to punch Goober in the mouth! As usual, Goober learns information that he swears to Andy that his lip would be sealed, and no way would anybody get it out of him, but shortly after making such an oath, Goober shoots off his big fat mouth! If this happened in reality, Andy would have punched Goober in the mouth himself, or better yet, just asked Helen about the article he found. He must not trust the woman he supposedly is in love with, as far as I am concerned.

Poor Concusion

Warning: Spoilers
I, like a previous reviewer, am going to take issue with the deplorable ending to this episode. First of all, her explanation is preposterous. Even if she was acquitted, she was guilty of ll those things. She went off on her own. Secondly, Andy brings all this about. Goober is in his dangerous mode, not just blabbing but being too stupid to realize he is giving Helen up. As for the forgiveness. It would have been OK for Helen to tell Howard, Andy, and the school board to stuff their job and file a lawsuit. I know from being in education for over 40 years that rumors like these don't stop. Opie said the whole school was talking about her being dismissed.
