Sally's moment
Let me first add that this episode isn't a very memorable one, or even that funny, but it gives a chance for Sally Struthers to give a decent performance for once, as she's usually rendered quiet for many other episodes. Right off the bat, it becomes evident that there's no Archie at all, hardly a mention of him, which is never a good thing. What this boils down to is Gloria thinking she may be pregnant again, and that she's afraid to tell Mike because they apparently had an agreement not to have another baby, mainly because the very liberal Mike feels it would be bad to bring another child into an over populated and underfed world, which we already knew from episodes past. Struthers is the star here, as she has serious dialog with both her mother and her husband, including a funny moment when she head butts Mike in the stomach, and knocks him over the table to the floor after they argue. They both argue about whose fault it is that she may be pregnant; is it her fault because she didn't take the pill, or Mike's because he won't use contraception? After the arguing, Mike reluctantly agrees on getting a vasectomy(where is Archie when you need him?), and naturally, the doctor calls Gloria to inform her that she isn't pregnant, so basically, Mike got the surgery under false pretenses. Long story short, he isn't mad after finding out about Gloria's not being pregnant, even though she feels very guilty anyway. I don't highly recommend this episode, but if you're interested in seeing her character finally getting a show to herself, and need a break from Archie, then maybe you'll enjoy this.
