After guest starring in this episode, Tia Carrere was supposed to join the A-Team as a member for the start of the 5th season. But due to her not being able to get out of her contract with the soap-opera General Hospital (1963), the idea was nixed. Her character was never mentioned again.
Although there are many fistfights and shootouts in the series, the A-Team do not ostensibly kill anyone throughout the series, hence the PG rating. The possible exception is the Vietnamese officer who shoots General Fullbright, Hannibal firing back with a grenade launcher and destroying the hut he is in.
Fulbright tells Murdock, "you're Captain Murdock", to which he replies, "Captain Spaulding". Captain Spaulding is the name of Groucho Marx's character in Animal Crackers (1930). The mustache-and-glasses disguise he is wearing is based on Groucho.
This is the last episode to feature the opening narration by John Ashley. It is also the last time the original theme music is used.
Some fans cite this episode as a sign of the show's eventual decline. The reason given, is due to the storyline of "The Sound of Thunder" being more serious than usual.
