Jane Saunders : [Raises her voice after he remains silent] where are you taking me?
Tony Almeida : Back to your father
Jane Saunders : My father? Why?
Tony Almeida : His holding my wife hostage: he'll kill her if I don't take you back to him
Jane Saunders : So basically you're kidnapping me
Tony Almeida : I'm sorry
Jane Saunders : After everything he's done, how can you be sure he'll do what he says? How do you know he won't kill your wife anyway?
Tony Almeida : I don't have a choice, I wish I did but I don't

Jane Saunders : [while on their way to meet Saunders to exchange Michelle for Jane as Tony drives] I know my father released the virus in the hotel, people died but do you really think he'll do what his saying? Release it all over the country?
Jack Bauer : If we don't stop him: yes
Jane Saunders : Why? There has to be a reason his doing all this?
Jack Bauer : When I worked with your father, he dedicated himself to saving lives of innocent people. Something's happened to him, I don't know what but now he believes our government betrayed him
Jane Saunders : Is he right?
Jack Bauer : There's no easy answer to that. The work your father did often demanded it, he made seemingly impossible sacrifices, and whatever happened to your father in Bosnia was obviously a sacrifice he wasn't willing to make. I'm sorry
