The future of Númenor hangs in balance as the political struggle for the high seat continues, and even with the usurper Ar-Pharazôn trying his mighty best to earn the support of the masses to strengthen his claim on the throne, it will not be as easy as he had initially assumed. In the previous episode, to embolden the position of Pharazôn’s and King’s men, Kemen took matters into his own hands while trying to diminish a sacked Elendil’s influence on the sea guards and went on to desecrate the religious practices of the Faithful. Elendil chose to strike Kemen for his dastardly act, which resulted in a violent clash, ending with Kemen killing Elendil’s protégé, Valandil. As it turns out, the repercussions of the tragedy have far-reaching impact, and Elendil and Míriel get caught up in Pharazôn’s ploy in the process. However, in the end,...

Starring Sosie Bacon and Alex Roe, the drug-focused drama feature Hazard is set to hit theaters early next year.
Writer-director Eddie Mensore’s film has been acquired by Emphatic Pictures and Rbl Films for theatrical release on Jan. 10, 2025, in the U.S, Canada, the U.K. and other territories. Steven Ogg and Dave Davis round out the cast for the movie that is set in the Appalachian mining town of Hazard, Kentucky, and explores the ongoing opioid crisis.
Hazard centers on Will (Roe), a reluctant drug dealer challenged with whether he can save his opioid-addled family as he tries to make a living and battle his own additions.
“Leave Hazard forever with me,” Roe tells partner Sara (Bacon) in the trailer. He adds, “Mining ain’t for me.” Bacon is concerned about their finances and wants to know, “You really got 10,000 saved?”

Rings of Power Showrunner Welcomes Negative Critics: "It's Not a Middle-earth Journey without Trolls" - Main Image
Toxic fandoms have been a big problem since internet forums became a thing, but they’ve been extra ferocious lately ever since some Youtubers and influencers discovered that spewing toxic hate online could actually be pretty lucrative.
The Lord of the Rings fandom isn’t free from these ‘negative’ fans who hate everything that comes out, but Rings of Power showrunner J.D. Payne actually welcomes them and is ‘happy’ that they’re writing about the show.
"What’s a Middle-earth Journey without Trolls?" Says J.D. Payne
In a recent report from THR, it was discussed how The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power has managed to amass a chunk of the fandom that just likes to endlessly hate on the show, fuelling these ‘Rings-bashing content creators.’

Call the banners and muster the dragons, there is trouble in the kingdoms!
HBO’s big-budget fantasy epic House of the Dragon and Amazon’s even bigger-budget fantasy epic The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power are encountering a hailstorm of catapulted projectiles.
For Rings, the issue is familiar. The $715 million series — which debuted two years ago to strong ratings and fandom discord — unveiled the first four episodes of its new season. The consensus is that this new run is firmly an improvement, but some critics and fans maintain it’s not as strong as it should be (many contrast the show to Peter Jackson’s Oscar-winning trilogy — and how can you not? — even though that saga arguably set an impossibly high bar for a prequel series to follow). The show’s Rotten Tomatoes scores are similar to the first season — a very good 83 percent among critics, a...

By far the strangest interlude in J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved Lord of the Rings trilogy comes near the start of The Fellowship of the Ring, right after Frodo and his friends leave the Shire with the One Ring in tow. They cut through a forest and run into a jolly stranger named Tom Bombadil. Tom wears a blue jacket and yellow boots. He sings a lot. He talks to trees. And he's apparently so ancient and powerful that the One Ring, the item everyone in Middle-earth is freaking out about, has zero effect on him.
Tom helps the hobbits out of a few jams, sends them on their way, and then is barely ever mentioned again. He doesn't fit neatly into any of the extensive lore Tolkien so painstakingly crafted, nor does he have any appreciable effect on the wider plot. That's why most adaptations of The Lord of the Rings,...

The road (to more Lord Of The Rings) goes ever on and on! Earlier this summer, we found out the exciting news that Andy Serkis is set to kick off a planned new trilogy of big screen Middle-earth adventures at Warner Bros. with the self-explanatorily titled Lord Of The Rings: The Hunt For Gollum. And after a fallow few weeks with no further word on the new Rings project, last week Sir Ian McKellen — Gandalf the Grey (and occasionally White) himself — revealed that he has been approached to pick up his trusty pipe and hat once more. Now, Orlando Bloom has thrown his bow in the ring for a Legolas return in Serkis' film, too.

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" season 2 is not only a triumph, but it's also a vast improvement on the first installment and a treat for fans of Tolkien. Prime Video's Middle-earth series is an ambitious show that's not afraid to slow down and appreciate the sheer vibes of Middle-earth or get extremely weird — by, say, bringing in Tom Bombadil and Old Man Willow. The show's secret weapon lies not in the titular rings, but in composer Bear McCreary, who brings a truly unique and at times strange sound that builds on Howard Shore's music for Peter Jackson's Tolkien adaptations. Only McCreary would bring Meshuggah's Jens Kidman to sing the theme for Damrod the hill troll (or finally give Tom Bombadil a song and make it sound like a folk tune performed by Rufus Wainwright).

The Rings of Power Fans Declare Lotr Spinoff is Better Than Game of Thrones - Main Image
The Rings of Power is halfway through season 2 and fans are already convinced that the Lord of the Rings spinoff show is better than Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon combined. Here's why fans think so.
Rings of Power Fans Believe Series is Better than Game of Thrones
The Rings of Power and House of the Dragon have a lot in common, so it's not surprising to watch fans compare the two spinoffs with each other's flagship franchises.
Considering that both universes explore the elements of fantasy and come from original novels, what's particularly comparable is how The Rings of Power has "better storytelling than Game of Thrones."

The fourth episode of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 is out now on Prime Video, and this mid-season turning point brought in a bevy of exciting characters and creatures from across J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium. But few were a bigger deal than Tom Bombadil, the quirky forest-spirit-guy whom the episode, "Eldest," is named after.
If you've read The Lord of the Rings, you'll be familiar with Old Tom. He appears early in the first book, The Fellowship of the Ring, and gives some respite and a helping hand to the Hobbits on their way out of the Shire. He's been living on Middle-earth since time immemorial, and communes with nature as he sings silly songs and spends time with his wife, Goldberry. Tom's section of the book is notorious for being kind of a whimsical aside that doesn't especially contribute to the overall story — which...

Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was a surprisingly successful entry in Phase Four of the MCU. The film was released at the height of the pandemic and earned over $432 million at the box office. A sequel was announced at the time, with filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton returning.
While the origins of the Ten Rings have been kept ambiguous in the MCU, they seem to be extremely powerful. A new rumor regarding the sequel revealed that time travel will be involved in Shang-Chi 2. Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi would reportedly be able to time travel and battle the Agents of Atlas using the Ten Rings.

Sir Ian McKellen may have proven his excellence across multiple genres, but perhaps none of his performances come as close to perfection as that of Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings film series. And yet, as efficient as his portrayal of the fan-favorite wizard was onscreen, the 85-year-old actor had to put up with some equally tiresome stuff offscreen.

As it turns out, this “tiresome” stuff included filmmaker Peter Jackson making filming extremely tiring for the actors through the barrage of script changes he suggested every now and so often. However, being the genius that he is, McKellen devised the perfect solution to prevent Jackson’s constant changes from affecting him and ended up giving the performance of a lifetime.

The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power Unveils Sauron's True Form In Season 2 Premiere - Spoilers
The first three episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power are now streaming on Prime Video, and the premiere wastes little time in taking us back to the Dawn of the Second Age to reveal the shocking origin of Sauron.
Major spoilers follow.
The first episode begins by introducing Sauron in his original form as a Maia spirit made flesh (played Slow Horses actor Jack Lowden) shortly after the defeat of his master, Morgoth.
Sauron gives a speech to a group of Orcs, attempting to convince them to embrace him as their new Dark Lord. However, Adar - now played by Sam Hazeldine - doesn't believe his would-be ruler has his "children's" best interests at heart, and instigates an uprising which results in Sauron's "death."
Though Sauron's spirit appears to leave his body, his blood flows into the earth, and the shape-shifting villain is eventually able to take the form of.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is back on Prime Video for a second season. We visit new locations and meet new characters in the first three episodes, available to stream now. That includes Círdan, a shipwright who is among the oldest elves in Middle-earth.
Círdan is played by English actor Ben Daniels, who you may recognize from his turn as the campy vampire Santiago in AMC's Interview With The Vampire, a role he absolutely crushed. For that reason alone, I'm looking forward to seeing him on The Rings of Power.
Daniels' personal life is also of interest, since it intersects with the star of another big fantasy series. English actor Ian Gelder played Tywin Lannister's younger brother Keven for years on HBO's Game of Thrones. As it ends up, Gelder and Daniels were partners in real life.

This post contains spoilers for the first episode of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" season 2.
"The Rings of Power" may not have been the show fans of "The Lord of the Rings" thought they wanted, but it is a staggering work of fantasy fiction that captures the spirit of Tolkien and his world-building. Looking back at season 1, one of the boldest choices was making Sauron one of the main characters in the form of the human Halbrand. It's as subversive as it is entertaining, one that is all about trickery, with Sauron fooling Galadriel while also hitting at one of Tolkien's most fascinating ideas — a repentant Sauron. Can we trust him when he says he genuinely regrets his decisions? Can Sauron ever think of doing something good?
That is the question at the heart of the season 2 premiere of "Rings of Power," which takes us all...

Before any of the first season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” had streamed on Amazon Prime Video in 2022, executive producers and showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay had already finished much of their work constructing the story for Season 2. That’s partly due to the free time provided by the Covid shutdown in 2020. But, in truth, Payne and McKay say they’ve known for years how the show will recount the rise of Sauron (Charlie Vickers) through the Second Age of Middle-earth, the millennia-spanning era leading to the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” novels.
“It’s surprisingly more mapped out than you would expect,” McKay says.
Season 2 opens, for example, with a sequence the writers first conceived six years ago: the depiction of what McKay calls “the show-canon origin story” for Sauron, a geeky way of acknowledging that many details about the Second Age,...

Rumour has it that Prime Video's The Rings Of Power is the highest-budgeted TV show ever made — though the maths depends on including the vast amount paid for the rights to J.R.R. Tolkien’s magnum opus, The Lord Of The Rings. It certainly looks expensive, from its extensive locations to the huge sets. More importantly, however, the plot lives up to the packaging.
It may be cobbled together from tag-ends of material in Tolkien’s appendices, but this packs more incident and excitement into its second season than some entire books. If you’re going to throw money at a TV screen, you can only hope it looks and sounds as good as this.
Admittedly, showrunners J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay are standing on the shoulders of giants. They have Tolkien’s unmatched worldbuilding, and the visuals owe a heavy debt to...

Season 2 of the most expensive TV series ever made is here, and it still feels like something of a loss leader.
Prime Video’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” has yet to develop characters we care about or put them in settings and situations — regardless of however handsome or awesome they may be — that make their fates more than rudimentarily moving.
The eight-episode season also fails to move the narrative needle much beyond where the smoking ruins of Season 1 left matters. Sauron (Charlie Vickers) is still the shape-shifting superbad. Elves, dwarfs, humans and orcs remain too blinkered by their own political in-fighting to counter him effectively. The goofy cosmic Stranger (Daniel Weyman), who we all know will become J.R.R. Tolkien’s most famous wizard, is still wandering around looking for his magic staff with some proto-Hobbit pals. More rings get made.

This year’s Sdcc featured a slew of announcements, including the news that Kang’s storyline will be sidelined as the Multiverse Saga shifts focus to the more formidable villain, Doctor Doom. Robert Downey Jr., who famously portrayed Iron Man until his character’s death in Endgame, will take on the role of Doctor Doom, marking a significant new chapter in the MCU.
The announcement of Rdj as Doctor Doom has sparked mixed reactions from fans, who worry that the MCU might not distinguish him enough from Iron Man. There’s uncertainty about how Doom will be integrated into the MCU, with theories ranging from no connection to Iron Man at all to the possibility that Doom could be a twisted variant of Iron Man from an alternate reality.
Recent rumors suggest that Doom might make his first appearance in Fantastic Four: First Steps. As we await more details, speculation continues.

Before "The Lord of the Rings" and before "The Hobbit," there was "The War of the Rohirrim." Merely the first of several new "Rings" movies currently in the pipeline, this animated film is set to bring J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved fantasy world to life like we've never seen it before -- reinterpreting Middle-earth and its entire iconography through the heightened magic of anime. Warner Bros. debuted the official full-length trailer earlier today after only releasing snippets of footage at exclusive events over the last few years, finally giving animation fans and Tolkien nerds alike plenty of reason to join forces in anticipation of this next grand adventure. The epic tale is set almost 200 years before the events of the original "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, chronicling a key moment from the history of Rohan and its horse-riding people: the legendary tale of Helm Hammerhand and his war against the marauding Dunlendings.

Exclusive: Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men) and Laura Slade Wiggins (Shameless) have signed on to star alongside Landon Ashworth (Space Force) in Go On, a fantasy drama marking Ashworth’s feature directorial debut, which will enter production in New Mexico in September.
Marking Ashworth’s first produced feature screenplay, the film follows two strangers on a remote mountain, scorched by forest fires, as they help each other process baggage from their previous lives so they can transition to the afterlife. Ashworth crafted the screenplay after losing his very young cousin, Landon Bellm, to suicide.
“Having my feature film directorial debut be my own screenplay which addresses real, meaningful, and relatable issues is an honor,” Ashworth told Deadline. “Also, having the opportunity to work with Vincent is beyond a dream come true. I’ve followed his career for over a decade and knew he needed to play the co-lead of this movie.

“The Lord of the Rings” is the most successful film series in the history of the Academy Awards, winning 17 Oscars including two Best Picture awards out of 30 total nominations.
Both “The Fellowship of the Ring” and “The Return of the King” won Best Picture while Peter Jackson won Best Director for the latter movie, which holds the joint record for most Oscar wins of all time with 11 victories (the same number as “Ben-Hur” and “Titanic”). However, the lauded trilogy only received one acting citation — that was for Ian McKellen for Best Supporting Actor for “The Fellowship of the Ring.”
But while the Oscars didn’t nominate nearly enough actors in this trilogy (shout out to Andy Serkis), “The Lord of the Rings” cast is full of incredible actors who have received multiple awards nominations for other projects. Considering it is Emmys season, we’re going to focus on Emmys.

The MCU is currently in the midst of Phase 5, which is shaping up to be part of the Multiverse Saga. Right now, things are quite confusing. With Kang the Conqueror introduced as the villain, his storyline may need to be hastily wrapped up, and Doctor Doom must be set up quickly and efficiently for the overarching narrative to make sense.
Phase 4 left many unresolved plot points and apparent plot holes, requiring numerous projects to address them all. Given that Phase 4 has the lowest approval ratings of any MCU phase so far, there are many elements that currently don’t make sense. We’ve compiled a list of the most glaring abandoned storylines, so let’s dive in.
What’s up with Celestials and Eternals?

Melvins drummer Dale Crover has dropped a new song titled “I Quit” featuring Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil.
The track hails from Crover’s forthcoming solo album, Glossolalia, arriving September 13th via Joyful Noise. Structured around odd-tuned riffs and simple, pocketed drums, it’s grungy slice of garage rock that is ripe for a wild guest solo from Thayil.

“It’s about trying to control people and thinking that you’re right about everything,” said Crover of the song via a press release. “It’s in a tuning that I call ‘Lazy Keith Richards.’ It opens in G, but you can only tune the A string to G. I thought it would be cool to get Kim to do a guitar solo on the track. That’s him after the second chorus.”

Viggo Mortensen was recently asked in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine why he never made another Hollywood franchise film after starring as Aragorn in Peter Jackson’s iconic “Lord of the Rings” trilogy between 2001 and 2003. The Oscar nominee said he’s got nothing against franchise fare, although he admitted that such films in Hollywood just often aren’t well-written enough to capture his attention.
“I don’t really look for or avoid any kind of genre or any size budget. I just look for interesting stories,” Mortensen said. “It doesn’t matter to me what the genre is or what the budget is or who’s making them. I would never do a movie just because so-and-so is directing it. It has to be about the story. And if I think I’m right for the character, that always comes first.”

Film Movement has snapped up North American rights to folk horror film “The Wait” (La Espera) from Spanish filmmaker F. Javier Gutierrez, best known for “Before the Fall” and “Rings,” following its North American premiere at Fantastic Fest. Film Movement is eyeing an autumn digital and cable release.
The film is set deep in the Andalusian countryside, where Eladio works as the groundskeeper of a hunting estate owned by the powerful Don Francisco. After taking a bribe from a veteran hunter, Eladio’s normal life falls apart, plunging him into the depths of guilt, hatred and revenge.
“The Wait,” which played at numerous film festivals including Sitges, Shanghai, Vancouver and Oldenburg, is “powerful and devastating,” according to Fotogramas, and “takes viewers along on a macabre descent into hell,” said Screen Zealots. It is “superbly directed,” Horror Fuel said, with an “impressive performance” from Victor Clavijo, according to Starburst.

Warning: This article contains intense nerdery and some reckless speculation for "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" season 2.
"Canon" and "lore" are the buzzwords of the day, apparently, and no popular franchise is safe from accusations of "breaking" the sacred texts that came before. "Star Wars" is currently weathering accusations regarding its fealty to George Lucas' previous films and other extraneous material with the Disney+ prequel series "The Acolyte," which dared to include everyone's favorite lumpy-headed Jedi Ki-Adi-Mundi and singlehandedly set off weeks of debate over when he was actually born.
Similar criticisms were lobbed at "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" during its debut season two years ago, mostly as a result of misunderstandings over whether the Middle-earth series is connected to the Peter Jackson "Rings" movies (spoiler: it's not) or incredibly nerdy nitpicking over changes that J.R.R. Tolkien himself would've told fans to chill out about.

While Shadow of the Erdtree‘s new weapons are proving to be some of the breakout stars of the Dlc, the game’s collection of Incantations and Sorceries shouldn’t leave spell casters wanting. Actually, there are quite a few new spells in the game that just may be good enough to convince melee and hybrid players to respec.
For this list, I tried to focus on the spells that are most useful in the more dangerous situations you will regularly find yourself in during Shadow of the Erdtree. In other words, there are a couple of flashy spells on this list, but the “cool factor” wasn’t my guiding light. Also, you’ll find demonstrations of these spells from YouTuber Sipder throughout this article. If you find those videos helpful, be sure to go check out their channel. Their demo videos are some of the best ones that I’ve seen thus far.

Ariana Grande has finally released “The Boy Is Mine” remix — collaborating with powerhouses Brandy and Monica 26 years after they debuted the original, massive hit of the same name in 1998.
Grande announced the remix earlier this week on social media, writing, “I ……… cannot believe this is real (i don’t know if i will even long after it’s out).” The “7 Rings” singer also thanked Brandy and Monica, “not only for joining me for this moment, but for your generosity, your kindness, and for the countless ways in which you have inspired me.

The first season of The Rings of Power was largely devoted to exposition. Even viewers who were already familiar with the world of Middle-earth from Tolkien's books or Peter Jackson's films based on them had to learn a lot of new things, because the world in the Second Age was very different from what it was thousands of years later, in the time of Bilbo and Frodo.
In addition, showrunners Patrick McKay and John D. Payne allowed themselves many deviations from the canon of the books, due to the fact that the creators of the show only have the rights to a small part of Tolkien's texts. For example, Isildur got a sister, and Galadriel's husband Celeborn disappeared.

Russell Crowe has no regrets when it comes to “The Lord of the Rings.” The Oscar-winning actor met director Peter Jackson to play the role of Aragorn in his film trilogy, but their conversation apparently turned off Crowe from wanting to move forward with the movies. Jackson’s “Rings” trilogy would go on to gross $2.9 billion worldwide and remains one of the most acclaimed film trilogies ever made. Still, Crowe knows it was the right call to let it pass.
“I don’t actually,” Crowe said during a British GQ video interview when asked if he has any “Rings” regrets. “I very much felt the studio were making that decision, not the film director. Yesterday evening, the news broke that Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy is being eyed to helm Avengers 5. Marvel Studios must be pleased with the Merc with the Mouth's upcoming threequel, but the report also featured another major revelation.
Apparently, the movie - previously titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty - will feature upwards of 60 Marvel characters!
As you might have guessed, that got us thinking about who we'll see in Avengers 5. While Marvel Studios has already introduced hundreds of heroes and villains, not all of them would fit into this movie.
So, no, this isn't just a list of 60 MCU characters, it's our breakdown of who we believe would fit into the story as well as which corner of this shared world they hail from. There are bound to be some surprises and glaring omissions which upset some fans, but we think this is a pretty definitive list of exciting possibilities.

Viggo Mortensen’s The Dead Don’t Hurt was certainly regarded as a masterpiece when it was initially released. The film brought about a completely fresh approach to the traditional genre of Western flicks. Throughout Hollywood, it is well known that the Western genre has its set roots. It is known for its knack for following unwritten rules, and almost every other project in the genre is similar in one way or another.

However, Mortensen’s 2023 film took a completely different approach to the genre, and interestingly enough, it worked very well. During an interview, he actually revealed the two key factors that he thought to be fundamentally different from others of their kind and even talked about how he wanted to push boundaries and add more representation.

Viggo Mortensen revealed in an interview with GQ UK magazine that he used Aragorn’s iconic sword Andúril from “Lord of the Rings” in his latest movie, “The Dead Don’t Hurt.” Mortensen wrote and directed the 19th century Western, in which he stars as a Danish immigrant separated from his love (Vicky Krieps) during the Civil War.
For one fantasy sequence in the film, Mortensen asked his “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson if he had his permission to use Aragorn’s sword again on screen. Mortensen played the character in Jackson’s original “Rings” trilogy and kept the sword after production wrapped.
“We had everything for this sequence with a knight. We had found this great, spirited horse, the right kind of saddle, and we made a medieval kind of blanket, and we had the costume for the knight,” Mortensen explained. “Everything was right, and then I said,...

The copyright lawsuit between original Friday the 13th director / producer Sean S. Cunningham and screenwriter Victor Miller, a case that dragged on for years, finally ended with Miller being awarded the copyright to the first movie within the United States. Fans were hoping that meant the path was clear for a new Friday the 13th film to go into production soon – but that’s not happening. During an appearance at the Texas Frightmare Weekend convention, Cunningham told fans we shouldn’t expect to see a new Friday the 13th movie for at least three more years.
Back in the glory days, a.k.a. the ’80s, we were getting new Friday the 13th movie from Paramount on a yearly basis, with 1983 and 1987 being the only years without a new F13 arriving on the screen. But things changed when the ’90s arrived. We only got one new movie, from New Line Cinema,...

Prime Video loves burning its money on ambitious TV shows. Sometimes, it works; sometimes, it doesn’t. Rings of Power, the streamer’s adaptation of Tolkien’s iconic LotR prequel, flopped tremendously with Season 1, but it was still mildly interesting because of the whole “Who is Sauron?” mystery. But Season 2… Oh boy.
Season 2 decided to keep that idea but take it to some truly notorious levels of absurdity that clash with the serious dramatic undertone of the unfortunate saga.
Rings of Power Is a Fashion Comedy Now
The mystery of Sauron’s identity largely carried the otherwise disastrous Rings of Power Season 1 thanks to its suspense. Initial reports about Season 2 suggested that Season 2 would keep on the trend by adding another Sauron form, and that sounded like a lowkey good idea… Until we saw the execution in the recent trailer.

Even if some people are so hurt by the first season of Rings of Power that they are unlikely to come back for the second, even if it is much better, there is one reason to at least watch the trailer: the memes.
As the Internet learned a while ago, the best trauma response is humor, so no matter how good or bad the second season is going to be, the fans of the universe are ready to greet it with big smiles on their faces.
“Who knew that the origin of Elves growing long hair actually started with Sauron and his wig!” – @ravenlord4
As we all learned from the first season of Rings of Powers, Amazon Prime Video has its own take on J.R.R. Tolkien's lore. Sometimes it's downright wrong, but in this case, we might even get behind it!

The first trailer for the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was released online yesterday afternoon, and Prime Video has now followed-up with a special "Look Inside" featurette spotlighting quite a bit of new footage.
The video takes us behind-the-scenes of the sophomore season of the Lotr prequel series, as the main cast members bring us up to speed on their respective characters.
By far the biggest talking point from the trailer is the return of Sauron, who has now taken his Elven "Annatar" form in an effort to hide out in Eregion. If the show follows the lore, the "Giver of Gifts" will befriend Celebrimbor and aid him in the making of the Nine (that were given to men) and Seven Rings (gifted to the Dwarves) of Power.
Of course, Celebrimbor and the other Elven smiths already met Sauron when he was disguised...

Guillermo del Toro is renowned for the many masterpieces he has created. His artistic prowess has allowed a certain sense of faith that fans find themselves with because of the darker elements he is willing to tap into. As someone who has always found himself liking darker sketches and the scary side of things, exploring the gothic storylines isn’t something the director is afraid of.

The Lord of the Rings books have been long over since they were published in the 1950s. Adaptations upon adaptations came and went by. Prequels and spin-offs were made and fans seemed to receive them all with great anticipation. However, one project, in particular, is yet to be looked at.
