Beautifully Filmed And Very Haunting.
michelelein-885295 November 2022
I know that this film had a very low rating on Prime Video. But that is not a true indicator of the quality of it because: 1. Most Prime viewers generally don't like 'foreign' films. (Although it's not truly foreign in every way, it's Canadian.) 2. Most of the American viewers also don't have the patience for this type of austere loneliness in a storyline, I think it scares them, you know, being that they're American and all.

3. It looks like it might be a horror film at first (which probably accounts for over fifty percent of Prime viewership), but it isn't, not in a scary monster type of way, anyway, just in the sheer "aloneness" and 24 hours a day darkness it portrays, which most Americans just can't stomach; and 4. The storyline is ambiguous. There's a lot of cold, darkness, snow, and "aloneness". Most Americans don't have, or want, to spend the time it takes to "get it", although some, like me, will get it immediately.

So if you are not in any of the viewer groups listed above, try it. You have probably an eighty percent chance of liking this film, ten percent of hating it, and ten percent of rating it at nine or ten stars.

Held My Interest

This apparently is a very low budget independent film with amateur actors. It's was a little quirky, but held my interest for it's little over an hour running time.

Meditative, creepy, lonely and cold

I watched this movie on prime because it had 1 star from one user. I like independent, outside of Hollywood films so this one was right up my alley. The movie felt like a dream, and sometimes like a nightmare. Beautiful, harsh landscapes, and the few people looking so tiny and our hero trying so hard to connect. A weird pop up character doesn't make sense until the end. Thankfully the man has his dog (a breakout performance there!) I would love to ask the filmmakers questions about certain choices....but its really a study on isolation and what it does to people. The music was cool too. I liked it a lot!!
