The Red Piano residency in Las Vegas was basically Elton John keeping the Caesars Palace Auditorium warm for Celine Dion when she was taking an extended break.
This was a more intimate show Elton John put on in Las Vegas. The theme was red which signified love.
Elton goes through his vast repertoire such as "Daniel," "Rocketman," "Bennie and the Jets," "I'm Still Standing," "Candle in the Wind," and "Your Song."
The visual concert imagery is provided by director David LaChapelle. Some of it seedy with Pamela Anderson playing a stripper as Elton sings The Pinball Wizard.
For another song Justin Timberlake plays a younger Elton John.
The older Elton John is less flamboyant as signified by his more sedate clothing choices.
Ultimately the show works best in terms of atmosphere if you watched it live in Vegas. Luckily I saw Elton John perform on tour about the same time as this where he sang more songs.
