15 years ago today, the doors of the Coyote Ugly saloon swung open, turning a low-key Jerry Bruckheimer-produced coming of age film into a beloved cult hit.
But what happened to coyotes Piper Perabo, Tyra Banks and the rest of the movie's cast? To mark the movie's birthday we find out what they've all been doing in the 15 years since Coyote Ugly.
Piper Perabo
Since playing aspiring singer Violet Sanford in Coyote Ugly, Piper Perabo's career has veered from the sublime (2005's The Prestige) to the ridiculous (2008's Beverly Hills Chihuahua).
The film roles have kept on coming, but recently she's been best known as the lead in TV series Covert Affairs, which ran for five seasons on the USA Network between 2010 and 2014.

Bless you, direct-to-dvd industry, for churning out endlessly amusing extensions of movies that never should have been franchises in the first place. An EW staffer casually mentioned the third Ace Ventura movie earlier today, inspiring a group of us to reminisce about the most random sequels we could think of — sequels many of us were hearing about for the first time.
And so, in honor of both these little-discussed gems and the gift that is Friday afternoon, here’s a list of the genre’s most unassuming entries. Caution: It’s about to get all nostalgic up in here. (Like that’s a surprise.

There have been more than a few rappers that have made their way into the film world. Just off the top of my head I can think of Ice Cube, Ludicris, Eminem, LL Cool J, 50 Cent, Method Man, Heavy D, Mos Def, Will Smith, Mark Wahlberg, Ice T, Snoop Dogg... honestly this list could go on for a long time. One of the more recent entries in this field is Ne-Yo, who made his feature film debut with the straight-to-dvd Save the Last Dance 2 in 2006, but has since been in movies like Stomp The Yard and Battle Los Angeles. He actually has two films coming out this year, and while Tyler Perry's Good Deeds won't arrive until next month, this week sees the release of Anthony Hemingway's Red Tails and today we have a featurette for you that goes behind the scenes of the World War II...

Earlier this year, Ne-Yo showed off his acting chops in his music videos for "Beautiful Monster" and "Champagne Life," from his recently released album Libra Scale. But soon the R&B crooner will take his skills to prime-time television when he guest-stars as a fashion-forward hit man on an episode of "CSI: NY," according to People magazine.
"Ne-Yo will be playing a professional hit man who doesn't fit the usual image of a hired killer," a rep for the hit CBS show told People. "This guy carries himself with elegant style but a violent efficiency." The episode, which is set to air in February 2011, will also feature music from Libra Scale. "CSI: NY" has previously lined up celebrity guest spots including Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Minnillo, Lala Vasquez and members of rock band Train.

You.d expect Ne-Yo to sign up for films like Stomp the Yard and Save the Last Dance 2, but Battle: Los Angeles? Hopefully the unbelievably talented singer and dancer can channel those skills into acting for this sci-fi action flick. Battle: Los Angeles is about a platoon of Marines battling invading aliens. According to THR, Ne-Yo will play a corporal in the platoon and will be joined by Ramon Rodriguez, Taylor Handley and Cory Hardrict. Jadin Gould, Bryce Cass and Joey King have also just signed on to join the cast, which already includes Aaron Eckhart as the platoon leader, Michelle Rodriguez as another corporal and Bridget Moynahan and Michael Pena as civilians. Gould, Cass and King will be playing a group of kids stuck in a community center. For some reason Ne-Yo strikes me as a guy who can do anything. Even if his ability to rock a...

Grammy Awards-winning singer/songwriter Ne-Yo is once again spreading his wings to the big screen. After nailing role in "Stomp the Yard" and "Save the Last Dance 2", the 29-year-old has been signed for an action sci-fi for Columbia Pictures, "Battle: Los Angeles", The Hollywood Reporter claimed.
In the movie which marks his highest-profile gig so far outside music, the "Closer" hitmaker is set to portray a corporal in a Marine platoon. He joins the line-up of cast that include "The Dark Knight" star Aaron Eckhart, "Fast and Furious" actress Michelle Rodriguez, "Prey" lead Bridget Moynahan and "World Trade Center" actor Michael Pena.
Beside Ne-Yo, other actors filling up the ensemble are Ramon Rodriguez, Taylor Handley, Cory Hardrict, Jadin Gould, Bryce Cass and Joey King. While Rodriguez, Handley and Hardrict are tapped to play members of the platoon, Gould, Cass and King are picked up to play kids trapped in a community center.

Shaffer Chimere Smith is living two lives. In one he's a singer songwriter on Def Jam records, whose albums regularly top the Billboard charts. The other life is lived in films, exclusively thus far with a musical bent, like Stomp the Yard and Save the Last Dance 2. In both, he goes by the alias Ne-Yo. And both have a future, although broadening his film CV seems to be the current focus, with the announcement from The Hollywood Reporter that he's signed on to star in the decidedly non-dancy Battle: Los Angeles. Columbia's sci-fi war movie, directed by Jonathan Liebesman, will also star Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Michael Pena, and Ramon Rodriguez. The human cast of the alien invasion story seems split between miltary types and kids holed up in a community centre.Sounds like there may be shades of a Katrina allegory there, so it's fitting that...
