Great night of UFC action.
Headlined by the highly anticipated rematch of Chuck Liddell vs. Randy Couture. Both of whom who just got done as coaches of the The Ultimate Fighter TV show. This is probably one of the highest bought UFC PPVs of all time. Even more so then UFC 40 which was headlined by Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz.
The second fight between these 2 great Light Heavyweight didn't go the same way as their first bout 2 years previous. The first bout saw Couture dominate Liddell, this fight saw a shocking Knockout by Liddell on Couture. First time in Couture's future Hall of Fame career that he had been knocked out.
The welterweight title fight was also a rematch. With Matt Hughes and Frank Trigg who previously fought in an exciting match at UFC 45. Hughes ability to make a dramatic comeback is probably the best I have seen in a MMA bout. He was on the brink of defeat to only comeback with an exciting slam and Choke submission.
Georges St. Pierre also proved his status as the future of the UFC Welterweight division by dominating victory over Jason Miller.
Also nice to see Renato Sobral return to the UFC.
