Woody Harrelson’s live event movie is garnering interest at Sundance.
Alex Walton’s Bloom has boarded international sales on Woody Harrelson’s directorial debut ahead of Thursday night’s simultaneous shoot and broadcast.
Harrelson directs the experimental event, which will shoot in one take across multiple locations in central London and screens live in Salt Lake City and participating Us theatres in association with Fathom Events.
The Oscar-nominated star plays himself as he struggles to get home to family in London despite encounters with royalty, old friends and the authorities. It is understood the storyline is inspired by true events in London back in 2002 triggered by an argument between Harrelson and his wife.
Harrelson has been in rehearsals since December and the cast includes Owen Wilson and Willie Nelson.
CAA represents Us rights to the project, which Harrelson is producing alongside Waypoint Entertainment’s Ken Kao, Walton’s founding partner at Bloom. Harrelson will participate...

Bloom will handle international sales on the action thriller from Waypoint Entertainment and Linson Entertainment.
Martin Zandvliet will direct from a screenplay by Andrew Baldwin about an American Pow in a Japanese camp immediately after WW2 who is released with the help of his Yakuza cellmate and sets out to earn the mob’s respect and repay his debt.
Zandvliet would appear to have an affinity for stories that take place immediately after the War.
He broke out at the Toronto International Film Festival last year with his Danish drama Land Of Mine, which centres on young German POWs in Denmark charged with clearing an area of landmines after the end of WW2. Spc holds North and South American rights and is expected to plan an awards run this year.

Review Kylie Peters Jan 14, 2013
This week's Once Upon A Time is pacey, well-written and packed with satisfying action. Here's Kylie's review...
This review contains spoilers.
2.11 The Outsider
Reading saves the day! It’s a Belle-centric episode of OUaT and finally, finally she gets to stop playing hero-bait long enough to do a little butt-kicking of her own.
This was a fabulous episode. The balance of action, character development, and plot movement kept it going at a brisk pace. If every episode of OUaT were like this, I could just write “Zomg awesome” a few times every week and slash my review-writing time to nothing.
Okay, so that’s an exaggeration. It was a little disappointing that there was no Bae this week, and the ending was sort of a buzz-kill after all that “I am Belle, hear me roar.” But I am willing to forgive all ills. The writing was clean and fresh,...

There's a reason the business pages in newspapers offer some of the best reading these days. There's real drama and human dimension in money, both the making and the losing of it. Writer-director Nicholas Jarecki captures exactly that in "Arbitrage," his polished debut feature film. (Jarecki earlier made a documentary, 2005's "The Outsider," in which he followed about as maverick director James Toback shot and attempted to distribute a movie.) Clearly partly inspired by the story of convicted financial trader Bernard Madoff, "Arbitrage" covers a few crucial days in the life of...

The film marks another coup for Gere as an actor with Jarecki surrounding him with an amazing cast that includes Susan Sarandon as his wife and Brit Marling ( Another Earth , Sound of My Voice ) as his daughter, who works in...

This Friday, Roadside Attractions releases Nicholas Jarecki’s debut feature, Arbitrage. The following interview was originally published on the eve of the film’s Sundance Film Festival premiere.
Currently best known for his documentary The Outsider, Nicholas Jarecki is poised for reevaluation with Arbitrage, his narrative directorial debut. Jarecki spent a long time ruminating over what kind of story he wanted to tell, ultimately deciding on a thriller set within a world he knew quite a bit about. Set amidst today’s tumultuous economic terrain, Arbitrage considers the ethics of a hedge-fund mogul. The film has already garnered attention thanks to its A-list ensemble, but Jarecki hopes his script will force audiences to continue thinking even after the credits finish rolling.
Filmmaker: Your film is a suspense thriller, but also about a man’s morality. How do you categorize the movie? Is it a cinematic ride, a character study, or...

Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate have bought Nicholas Jarecki’s “Arbitrage.” This thriller set in the high finance world stars Gere as billionaire hedge fund tycoon Robert Miller who on the eve of his sixtieth birthday finds himself desperately trying to sell his trading empire before the extent of his fraud is discovered. The film has been gaining buzz for a strong performance by Gere. The film marks the narrative feature debut for director Jarecki, who directed the documentary "The Outsider" in 2005, which followed the making of James Toback’s "When Will I Be Loved." “Arbitrage” also stars Susan Sarandon, Tim Roth and Brit Marling. Wme negotiated the deal. Roadside and Lionsgate continue to grow their partnership, which in the past has included teaming up on the release of Oscar-nominated “Margin Call.” The companies will release "Friend With Kids" in March.

[1] Hailee Steinfeld may have lost Katniss Everdeen to Jennifer Lawrence, but she'll be portraying an even more famous teenager soon. The young True Grit star is reportedly in talks to join Carlo Carlei's Romeo and Juliet as Juliet. For those who've somehow managed to get this far in life without knowing about Romeo and Juliet, the classic William Shakespeare play centers around a pair of teenagers from rival families who meet and fall in love, with tragic results. Kind of like Romeo Must Die, only with more emphasis on the romance angle and less on the martial arts stuff. Carlei's earlier features include 1993's The Flight of the Innocent and 1995's Fluke. The script is being written by Julian Fellowes, whose past work includes Gosford Park, last year's The Tourist, and the critically acclaimed Brit series Downton Abbey. The $15 million picture is scheduled to begin shooting in Italy later this spring,...

Welcome back to a fresh round of Reports. I personally am hoping for at least one more smackdown on the line of Friday’s brilliant hit at Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. After all, isn’t that what Thomas deserves for watching The Daily Show when Stephen’s trying to interview him? Seriously, I thought it was a fine example of how Mr. Colbert can impart important information with his humor—namely the fact that the bench-warming Thomas, alone of all Supreme Court Justices, has said nothing at all in the past five years. People who haven’t realized exactly how incompetent and impotent a judge Thomas is, now will…and enjoy a laugh, too.
This week brings us three out of four guests who have appeared on the ‘Colbert Report’ before, including one real friend of the show whose politics aren’t to my taste, but who I must admit makes a fun interview.

It seems that since Raj Kumar Santoshi’s The Outsider with Amitabh Bachchan has been temporarily postponed, Santoshi has decided to go forward with another film, still with Big B. I won’t disclose the story but it’s about clash between power of anger, lies and truth." The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn, which Amitabh wrote on Twitter was the "awesome foursome of Power". Santoshi has indeed a powerhouse star cast for his Power movie. According to Santoshi, it was easy to get this group of some of the best together: "I just gave them the basic storyline. I did not have the script yet, but even then, all of them said yes to me.
