"Zwei Zivis zum Knutschen" is a 2008 comedy movie starring Diana Amft, Denis Moschitto and Julian Sengelmann. One of its strengths is that it was never really predictable how things would turn out in terms of romance. There were several possibilities for the main characters, especially for Moschitto's. This film has some heart and a good message about life in a home for the elderly and life as an old person in general. Amft I am usually not too big on, but she does a good job here. Heinz W. Krückeberg plays his part very well too and when he sings his final song, it's time for goosebumps. The nurse played by Sabine Orléans was one of my favorite characters as she was not stereotypically all evil from start to finish, but showed some true credible character development.

Director Matthias Lehmann has not filmed a new film since this came out sadly, but I hope this is gonna change. At least he has worked on a script since then. Sengelmann you may have seen in "Türkisch für Anfänger" and (the very talented) Moschitto shone in "Kebab Connection" and "Chico". Also he is much older than the character he plays in this film here, namely a young man who refuses to join the army and has to work in community service for a couple months together with another young man. Also this film has some pretty nice songs included. I recommend watching it. Don't be confused because of the weak title selection. It was a television production, but certainly good enough for the big screen too.
