A truly important document, lets the awful events speak.
I speak as a documentary producer--this is one of the most important non-fiction films of our times. Without embroidery or polemic, the makers of this film have assembled a gripping narrative of the horrific events of 9/11. Using only the voices recorded at the scene the producers take us through those awful days, sparing us nothing, leaving us breathless at the courage shown by so many, and horrified at the cruel loss inflicted by the 19 Islamic extremists seeking martyrdom through an act of despicable cowardice. This is a film that needs to be seen by everyone who cares about the future of democratic society. We need to remember 9/11 and learn from that tragedy our need to protect our institutions and our free society from those who would destroy us. Young people should see this film. It is wrenching yet it is hopeful, and its scenes of violence are far less frightening than kids see every day on their video games. Douglas Leiterman, Toronto
