Up until the third season, the school set had only one hallway and the Bronze was actually just an old warehouse.
The high school used for external and some internal scenes in the series, is Torrance High, the same school used for Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990), and She's All That (1999).
The scene where Buffy confronts Giles about her fate was shot twice because the first one was rejected by Joss Whedon, arguing Buffy was too emotional. Whedon wasn't on set the day director Charles Martin Smith shot the moment, although Sarah Michelle Gellar told Smith she thought Whedon would prefer less emotion. When Whedon saw the scene he didn't like it and waited until he directed the season finale to re-shoot it.
This is the only episode in which Xander rides a skateboard. He is seen holding it in other episodes, but he never actually rides it again.
