This is the first time that I've seen a film that was shot in the town I live in. It was quite interesting to see hoe Wedel turned majestic looking building into something they were not and to see actors standing at places I passed many times. It was also interesting to see how Wedel portrays the characters who live in this town. The bourgeois and somewhat jejune attitude of the protagonists, the conventional behavior and looks of them. It was a bit different from how I conceive of Bonn, but I still think that for someone who doesn't live in Bonn it was fairly accurate, although Wedel shows a wee tendency to pick locations way to high-class (for example, I can't imagine a couple having a dispute on the Petersberg near Bonn, it is too far out to go there just for some ice cream).
The film itself was o.k., I thought that the story mainly dealing with legal affairs of marriage and divorce befits the location. But some of the characters weren't well developed and I had a hard time understanding the lawyer's wife and how she switched back and forth between her ex-husband and her new lover. But overall, this film was entertaining and sometimes funny. I probably wouldn't be rating it if lots of other people had already rated it and I probably wouldn't rate it if it hadn't been shot in Bonn. It is merely to add another critic to my comment history.
