There is a certain relish to the way Scott Glenn describes a knife. His voice – a sort of Midwestern drawl that has a touch of Pittsburgh flint and a lot of Ketchum, Idaho, where he's called home for decades, in it – stays slow and steady as he talks about some of the various weapons he's been using in his martial-arts training lately. You can tell from the gleam in his eye, however, that the actor is getting a serious kick out detailing his recent discoveries in self-defense cutlery.

It’s hard to believe it’s been four years since we last got the chance to go to the theaters and see an Edgar Wright movie. The genre favorite finished off the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy on a high note with “The World’s End” in summer 2013, but we haven’t gotten a new film since (and yes, Marvel is partly to blame because of that whole “Ant Man” debacle). Fortunately, Wright is returning this year with “Baby Driver” and it looks like it’s going to be his own insanely cool remix of Nicolas Winding Refn’s “Drive.”

Billed as “a visually stunning and disarmingly funny portrait of the literal and figurative troubled waters of Uncertain, Texas…a 94-resident town so tucked away ‘you’ve got to be lost to find it,'” the film follows a trio of local men all approaching the future in, well, uncertain terms.
To wit, there’s “an ex-convict obsessed with Mr. Ed, a gigantic boar he hunts in order to stay on the straight and narrow. A young idealist with big plans but few prospects looking for a bigger life. And an aging fisherman learning to let go of his youthful ways, and making peace with a fateful moment thirty years ago.

A new beginning, a resolution, an escape or falling back into the same old tricks.
Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce Season 3 Episode 4 had a little bit of everything, most of which was refreshing and exciting. Unfortunately, with the good comes the not-so-good, and we weren't spared that, either.
With Abby making new friends in Bakersfield and Jo, Delia and Phoebe playing fast and free in Palm Springs, there's a lot of ground to cover. Let's go!
Kudos to the team for that opening shot, because despite the title and the previews to the contrary, I got so caught up in the moment I really thought Abby had decided to drive to Palm Springs separately from the others and was on her way.
So what a fun surprise that Jo, Delia and Phoebe were without their "leader" for the weekend.
Odd that I consider Abby their ringleader, but as their mutual connection,...

Blindspot has been a little uneven through its first two episodes back from hiatus, but the unfolding mystery has offered just enough promise to keep the audience interested. That can’t last forever, though, and only time will tell how long it will take for viewers to get bored. Let’s see if things changed in this week’s new episode, “Devil Never Even Lived.” One question that we needed answered on this show was what Borden has been up to since his cover was blown. We finally see in “Devil Never Even Lived” that he’s now acting as a full-fledged leader in Sandstorm,

Every Doctor Who fan admires the plethora of lead actors and actresses who run through time and space on our screens (well, most of them, anyway!) but many often overlook the all too often unsung heroes of the series – the voice actors.
Now, Nicholas “Every Dalek Ever” Briggs has been haunting us with his metal machines and voice modulators since 2005 but he’s not the only one who’s lent his voice to the Doctor’s adventures since its revival. In fact, some pretty big name Hollywood stars have been heard and not seen in the series proving that famous figures are so eager to add Doctor Who to their glistening résumés that they don’t mind if they’re not even seen. And let’s face it, it’s a pretty easy gig too. Most voiceovers take all but a day to record which isn’t too shabby...

Once upon a time, there was a very bad man who got caught committing armed robbery. Caught red handed. But the very bad man was never brought to trial. Never convicted. Never even arrested. In fact, the bad man got away scott-free.
And no one lived happily ever after.
Except for the very bad man.

Well here it is. By popular demand I have dedicated my now 7th installment on what I believe is wrong with professional wrestling today to the one and only, vomit inducing, WWE defiling entity known as John Cena.
Now unlike my other opinions that have firmly been set in stone for quite some time, I had to sit here and seriously consider what I was planning to submit. For the number one reason I myself can’t stand this guy in any aspect is the simple fact that I cannot tolerate repetitiveness and predictability of any kind.
But what type of hypocrite would I be if I just sat here and used the same tired old arguments that have been plaguing the wrestling community now for at least half a decade? I am sorry but I have way too much respect for myself to simply lower the bar to that of “smark.

It’s time.
Yes, it’s Emmy time. But it’s also time for the Outstanding Host of a Reality or Reality-Competition Program to finally go to the host that, in my opinion, is long overdue to take the statuette home. That host is Cat Deeley, who has been bringing her charm, quick thinking and infectious enthusiasm to her So You Think You Can Dance for nine seasons now.
The British-born Deeley has been nominated the past three years (with Survivor’s Jeff Probst winning in 2011 and Dancing With The Stars’ Tom Bergeron taking it home last year) and when she spoke to me in her dressing room after a recent taping, we made sure to talk about what it means for her to be nominated.

Daniel Day-Lewis is renowed for his dedication to movie roles, in the sense that he’s been branded as a “method actor” of the highest order. You can’t even talk about Daniel-Day Lewis without somebody mentioning the fact that he spent time living away in the woods, hunting for his every meal, whilst prepping for his role in Michael Mann’s The Last of the Mohicans, or that he refused to break character for the entirety of Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood. As a result, the man has set the bar for method actors everywhere.
Which means that smaller, less dramatic instances of method acting often disappear into the night without anybody really paying attention to them. If you transform yourself entirely into Abraham Lincoln for 3 months without reverting back to your normal self, people aren’t going to pay you as much attention if you...

As irritating as it is to watch Zoe ping pong between Wade and George, her frustration over what happened was hilarious to watch on the Hart of Dixie Season 2 finale. At least at first.
In "On the Road Again," Zoe woke up hopeful that she didn't sleep with Wade... only to be disappointed when he walked out of the bathroom in only a towel. And then to make matters worse, George walked in on them. Seriously, her romantic life is a comedy of awkward situations. At this point, is it possible for her to be happy with either George or Wade? I'm not sure. And I blame the writers for that.
Zoe's actions these past few weeks haven't felt true to character at all. She's selfish, indecisive and was hurt by Wade, but her declarations to George and the night with Wade didn't make sense. And even though George walking...

Singer-songwriter Jonathan Coulton has accused Glee of ripping off his cover of 'Baby Got Back'. A cover of Sir Mix-a-Lot's hit 1992 rap single appears in the episode 'Sadie Hawkins', which aired on Thursday (January 24) in the Us. When the track was revealed on the Glee wiki last week, Coulton, who has a significant internet following and is renowned for his songs in the Valve Portal game series, tweeted: "Hey look, @GLEEonFOX ripped off my cover of Baby Got Back...Never even contacted me. Classy." The track was subsequently aired on the episode, and has now been put up for sale on iTunes. Coulson wrote on his blog: "It's a cover of a Sir Mix-a-Lot song obviously, but I wrote a new melody for it, which this recording uses." "A complicating factor is that, to my ears, it sounds like it actually uses (more)...

Jonathan Coulton may not be the original artist behind "Baby Got Back," but he does have a rather distinctive version of the song out there. And now it looks like "Glee" may have used that version without permission.
Is this stealing? Is it legal but morally reprehensible? Or is "Glee" entirely in the right? A look at the case may help you decide.
The music/Internet fiasco began on Friday (Jan. 18) when Coulton -- an independent singer with a devoted Twitter following (almost 100,000 of them as of this writing) -- tweeted that a "Glee" recording sounded a whole lot like his own cover of the Sir Mix-a-Lot anthem:
"Hey look, @GleeonFOX ripped off my cover of Baby Got Back... Never even contacted me. Classy."
Twitter furor rose yet again when Coulton posted a follow-up to his first tweet:
"After listening, I think that @GLEEonFOX may have even used parts of my recording.

Did "Glee" rip off a tongue-in-cheek cover of Sir Mix-a-Lot's "Baby Got Back" without the permission of the musician who originally arranged it, Jonathan Coulton?
Coulton, a singer/songwriter best known for his self-released songs about computer and geek culture, tweeted this morning:

— Jonathan Coulton (@jonathancoulton) January 18, 2013
Indeed, the version recorded for "Glee" is a nearly identical arrangement, performed by the characters from the Fox musical. Coulton also tweeted that he suspected that "Glee" even used original audio from his recording.

Known for his portrayal of "Childrens Hospital" funnyman Dr. Owen Maestro, Rob Huebel once had his heart set on a very different kind of role.
In a recent interview with Splitsider, the comedian admitted he was dying to play Don Draper on "Mad Men."
"I got all dressed up and wore a suit and went in," Huebel said. "I left there, thinking that I really nailed it. I was really like, 'Look out! Here comes Don Draper!' And then I never heard anything, never heard anything, never heard anything. And I thought, ‘Well, I’m sure that show got cancelled. Never even got off the ground. Bunch of dicks, they should have cast me. Serves them right.’
"Then, of course, it came on with Jon Hamm, and I was like, 'Oh! Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. He’s way better. Yeah, he should do that.' Because he’s so great in it.

Kevin Smith and his audience on his summer movie appreciation show ‘Spoilers’ are sharing their thoughts on the new sci-fi action thriller ‘Total Recall,’ which hit theaters on Friday. In the new webisode, titled ‘Stiller? I Never Even Met Her,’ the director debates whether the remake, starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel, lives up to its hype. He also debated whether it compared to the 1990 film of the same name, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, it was based on. The ‘Total Recall’ webisode of ‘Spoilers’ will begin airing today exclusively on Hulu and Hulu Plus. Frank Langella played an aging writer in Starting Out in the Evening (2007). Who would have figured this for typecasting?
In his superb memoir, Dropped Names: Famous Men and Women As I Knew Them (HarperCollins), Langella reveals that he is an incomparable memoirist and storyteller, recalling his encounters with scores of luminaries from the world of entertainment in a career spanning half a century. All of these luminaries are deceased and the cast of characters is listed “by order of disappearance”. Just as well, as many of the revelations are quite shocking.
Langella must be the most sociable and congenial actor on the planet, as the busyness of his social and professional lives and the breadth and depth of his friendships, romantic liaisons and acquaintances are very impressive indeed. He met Marilyn Monroe in 1953. She stepped out of a limousine and said “hi” to the adolescent from Bayonne,...

In the finale episode -- how convenient -- Kim dramatically breaks down admitting that she has ruined Kris' life, but she Never even refers to him by name -- just calls him "this guy." How removed is that. Totally emotionally removed. Kim is so disconnected from her husband that as she tearfully tells sister Kourtney and Scott Disick that she has "wasted everyone's time and money" with her wedding, she only refers to him as "this guy" repeatedly. "I met this guy from Minnesota. I feel awful I made him move out here, change his whole life. I feel bad for the guy," she sobs tearlessly. Does anyone else think it's weird that she Never even refers to Kris by name -- he's just "this guy" or "the guy" to her. It makes the whole Kris/Kim relationship seem even less real than ever. Then when Kim insists that Kris...

Another day, another remake. Never even heard of the original? Neither have I. Man on the Train is an English-language remake of Patrice Leconte's 2002 French film also titled Man on the Train. However, the appealing aspects of this are that it stars not only Donald Sutherland as a "retired poetry professor", but also Larry Mullen Jr., better known as U2's drummer, making his feature acting debut. Mullen plays a thief whose plans get thrown off track (no pun intended) when he meets Sutherland in a small town where he's looking to knock off a bank. It doesn't look terrible, but not that great either, but give it a shot anyway. Watch the first official trailer for Mary McGuckian's Man on the Train, via Moviefone: A mysterious criminal (Mullen Jr.) rolls into a small town planning to knock off the local bank, assuming it will go off without a hitch.

With Halloween just days away, Hollywood celebrities are making their own plans for the ghostly holiday. Some are hosting or attending lavish parties, others are opting for quiet affairs, and some are content to spend time with their own little boys and ghouls as they prepare for the big night. Tom and Katie Cruise were rumored to have spent $6,000 on a princess costume for daughter Suri, complete with pearl embroidery and diamond accessories. Actress Jennifer Garner is still trying to get daughters Violet (4) and Seraphina (1 1/2 ) to decide on a costume. "My oldest daughter has a very clear idea but it's contingent upon my youngest daughter," she says. "It seems like every time we ask her, it's a different farm animal." Michael Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones are moving the party out of Hollywood and into New York. The couple are planning an elaborate Halloween bash at their new mansion in Bedford,...

Is it bad? Of course it's bad. And I'm sorry. Because of the nature of our site, we have to pay for every film we see. And I put money in the pockets of Aaron Seltzer and Jason Freidberg. Which means they'll be able to crap out more Movie Movies. I didn't need to see this film to know it was going to be fucking terrible. Why wouldn't it be fucking terrible? Someone pointed a camera at this, and those someones were Seltzer and Freidberg. I thought about not going to see it: just cutting and pasting completely random lines from the reviews of Eclipse, New Moon, and Twilight from our site and from other sites and calling it a review. But then, I realized, I wouldn't be doing my job. So I went. And that was my mistake. Because as a film reviewer, I'm supposed to review films. And...

Some of the "Hot Tube Time Machine" cast members want to see it trending more often on Twitter, while others, like Rob Corddry, just want to see rank in some more dough -- though I think he may be joking about his expectations. Nevertheless, however well the show does this weekend, they do appear to have sold a ticket to Damon Lindelof.

PaleyFest first saluted the acerbic, irreverent and knee-bloodyingly funny "Curb Your Enthusiasm" in 2002. It's likely that back then, few in the room -- including its cast and creator -- figured the show would still be a factor in 2010. But 71 episodes later, it appears there will indeed be further adventures of Larry David and his cast of the put-upon.
The question of "Curb's" future was on most people's minds Sunday during the final night of the 27th annual TV festival. The answer was definitely probably.
Moderator Martin Miller of the Los Angeles Times began the session with an inquiry about more "Curb." But rather than quiz the group about a potential eighth season, he curiously asked whether there would be a big-screen version of the show, a la one-time fellow HBO comedy "Sex and the City." David's look was -- isn't it always? -- somewhere between puzzlement and incredulity.

Was it Fourth of July yesterday? Because Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains certainly had plenty of fireworks! And now the unlucky recipient of a James meltdown/tongue-lashing is ready to give her side of the story. Stephenie Lagrossa may have been the second one voted out this season, but she says she's happy that she can still hold her head high about the way she played and the way she went out. But she's still not too high on former tribemate James, who berated her at the challenge, back at camp, and at Tribal Council for not following directions during the immunity competition.

When we set out to write The Werewolf's Guide To Life—A Manual For The Newly Bitten (available this today from Broadway Books; see www.werewolfguidetolife.com or order here), we wanted to not only publish the first and only comprehensive manual to help new werewolves survive, but we also wanted to create a document of the American werewolf experience, past and present. To do that, we interviewed hundreds of werewolves who were willing to share their insights with us. We learned a lot about the day-to-day grind of the American lycanthrope, but we also heard grand tales of some legendary werewolves whose stories never get told in werewolf movies. Passed down through generations, they are stories of werewolves who made their mark on lycanthrope history, for better or worse.
