Johnny Ruffo, an Australian singer and actor, has tragically passed away at the young age of 35.

The late entertainer was best known for being a finalist on season three of The X Factor Australia, winning season 12 of Dancing With the Stars Australia, and then starring in the soap opera series Home and Away for three years.

Back in 2017, Johnny underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor and he was diagnosed with brain cancer a week later. He sadly lost his battle with cancer on Friday (November 10), his family announced in a statement.

Fox’s Gotham this Monday drew 3.5 million total viewers and a 1.2 rating (per finals), up 10 and 20 percent from last week’s series lows to deliver its second-best numbers of the season and hit a 3-week demo high.

Viewership for the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton was, in a word, tremendous.

Final update: According to Nielsen (by way of CNN), the face-off amassed 84 million total viewers across broadcast and cable networks, besting the record set by Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan’s Oct. 28, 1980 debate, which drew 81 mil. NBC led the pack with 18 million viewers. Among cable networks, Fox News was on top with 11.4 mil.

Monday night’s haul marks a 25 percent increase over the first 2012 debate between President Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney, which drew 67.2 million viewers. Meanwhile, this year’s Super Bowl amassed 111.9 million viewers.

Celebrity eyes were on the first presidential debate of the general election tonight as Hillary Clinton faced off against Donald Trump. Crime-stopper-stuffed Tuesday night had no less than six procedural dramas debuting. Some were familiar, some were brand new. Here’s who came out on top in the ratings in the key adult demo:

– CBS’ NCIS (18 million viewers, 2.9 rating among adults 18-49): This show has been on 12 years now, yet once again NCIS returned in the lead in its usual 8 p.m. slot. Still, NCIS is starting to show its age as this performance marks the show’s lowest-rated premiere since its series debut.

As TV audiences become more and more fragmented, it's always amusing to go back and look at perceived failures from two or three years ago and muse on how grateful the networks work be to have those numbers now.  It's a bit less common to go back only a year and look at the numbers a show was doing and go, "Good Lord. What Happened?!?" But it occurs. Case in point: More than a few ratings observers have glanced at this morning's premiere ratings for "New Girl" and then looked back at last year's premiere ratings and gone, "Good Lord. What Happened?!?" Last September, "New Girl" premiered with a 2.9 rating among adults 18-49 and 5.53 million viewers. Fox’s New Girl and The Mindy Project on Tuesday returned down sharply from their previous premieres, leading as they now are out of weaker, non-sitcom programming.

Utopia opened the night with 2.4 million total viewers and a 1.0 rating (per finals) — up a tenth in the demo week-to-week and improving slightly on Glee‘s most recent Tuesdays-at-8 numbers, but a far cry from the 6 mil/2.4 that Dads/Brooklyn Nine-Nine averaged here a year ago.

The X Factor has confirmed that Mel B will be the fourth judge this series.

The news was announced in a tweet from Simon Cowell's record company Syco, following reports last night that the Spice Girl had signed a £1m deal to join the show.

Mel B has been rumoured as the fourth judge for some time, following her experience as a guest judge in 2012.

"I'm so excited to be joining The X Factor - I loved being a guest judge back in 2012," she said.

"I've always thought honesty is the best policy when being a judge and that's what I'm going to bring more of this year - whether it's spotting an incredible singer, giving someone a reality check or debating with Simon over who's got it wrong!

Fox’s latest sinisterly entertaining reality stunt I Wanna Marry Harry got off to a very poor start in the ratings.

The series where 12 American women travel to England for to compete for a man they’re indirectly duped into believing is Prince Harry delivered a pauper’s 2.1 million viewers and a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49 during its Tuesday night premiere. (EW’s take on Harry).
