Featured review
Vague title for an easily explainable concept
This is part of the Resident Evil Collection, which has the first four films in the series, with extras for all, though not quite in equal amounts. It's off the second in the series. 7 and a half minutes long. It consists of clips of the movie that are compared to appropriate behind the scenes footage. Not a single word is spoken. Or written, for that matter, outside of a few clapboards and designations.
We see partially finished effects and get an idea of difficult shots were accomplished. Pre-vis. Storyboards and other illustrations. It helps you appreciate stunt doubles, the tremendous effort that went into making it convincing, and, really, to how great an extent this sort of thing is pieced together from countless individual elements to trick the eye and mind into believing that what we're watching is actually a sequence of events that went down just like we see. This medium really is astounding, when you stop to think about it, or peek beyond the final product, as we're allowed to, here. We're shown tests: zombies posing, walking, moving. Characters, as well. To see how it looks. In the lighting, in costume, doing the basic acting(again, no words).
I recommend this to anyone who wants to know more about how Apocalypse was brought about. 7/10
