Multi-award-winning British actress Samantha Morton, and Ruby Stokes appear in the first set of spine-chilling images for Paramount+’s upcoming horror-thriller series “The Burning Girls”.
Morton will star as Reverend Jack Brooks — a single parent haunted by a tragedy from her previous church, who bears the onus of her husband’s death — while Stokes stars as Jack’s 15-year-old daughter Flo — a teenager who marches to the beat of her own drum.
“Set in Chapel Croft, a village haunted by a dark and turbulent history, ‘The Burning Girls’ sees Reverend Jack Brooks and her daughter Flo arrive in the hope of a fresh start. They soon find a village rife with conspiracies and secrets where uncovering the truth can be deadly in a community with a bloody past,” as per the logline.

It’s no coincidence that Richard Laymon’s Funland is one of my favorite novels and Joel Schumacher’s The Lost Boys is one of my favorite films: I flat-out love horror stories set on the beach. There’s something undeniably alluring about the classic contrast between nightmarish scares and the seemingly idyllic setting of a public beach. So, when it came time to pick the films we wanted to celebrate during this year’s Class of 1981 retrospective series, I couldn’t resist choosing Blood Beach.
Riding the wave of aquatic and animal-centric horror that flooded the big screen in the wake of Jaws (and Jaws 2), 1981’s Blood Beach cleverly inverts just about everything concerning the sharp-toothed threat of its greatest cinematic influence. If you want to know what you’re getting into when you watch Blood Beach for the first time (as I did preparing for this retrospective...

He may have missed out on helming the "Thor" sequel, but that hasn't stopped demand for the skill of Brian Kirk who has entered talks to direct the long-gestating adaptation of "The Osterman Weekend" at Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment and Captivate Entertainment reports Deadline.
The second and shortest novel of 'Bourne' series author Robert Ludlum, the story has the host of an investigative news show becoming convinced by a CIA agent that the friends he has invited to a weekend getaway in the country are engaged in a Kgb conspiracy that threatens national security.
The book was adapted once before in 1983 and marked the final film of trend-setting helmer Sam Peckinpah's career. John Hurt, Craig T. Nelson, Rutger Hauer, Dennis Hopper, Meg Foster, Burt Lancaster and Chris Sarandon all starred.
Simon Kinberg and Jesse Wigutow penned the reboot which ditches the Cold War and spy elements and will switch around some of the occupations.

Daniel Mays is a familiar face thanks to roles in TV series such as Ashes To Ashes and the Bafta-nominated British movie Made In Dagenham with Andrea Riseborough, Bob Hoskins and Geraldine James.
He also has a role in Steven Spielberg's upcoming The Adventures of Tintin, released in October.
Away from showbusiness, he supports Leyton Orient Fc and has a young son called Mylo.
We will next see him on screen as Alex, the father of George, a frightened little boy at the centre of Doctor Who episode Night Terrors, which airs on Saturday, September 3 at 7pm. Here's what he had to say...(warning: there are some spoilers about the episode in Daniel's answers)

Marvel is looking to TV for a director on Thor 2.Variety reports that Brian Kirk is currently in talks to direct the sequel to this summer's hit movie, Marvel no doubt drawn in by his work on both Boardwalk Empire and Game Of Thrones. And given that Kirk's three episodes of Game Of Thrones include two of my favorites - those being Lord Snow and Cripples, Bastards And Broken Things - I have no issue with that at all. Looking back farther in his filmography and seeing episodes of Dexter, Idris Elba starring UK hit Luther, The Tudors, The Riches and about half of League Of Gentlemen alumni project Funland certainly doesn't hurt, either. This strikes me as an uncommonly savvy move by Marvel. High...
