One of the darkest comedies I've seen in a long, long time!

Warning: Spoilers
WARNING--THIS SHORT FILM FEATURES VERY ADULT CONTENT. YOUNG CHILDREN AND THE EASILY OFFENDED....HECK, EVERYONE SHOULD PROBABLY AVOID THIS FILM UNLESS THEY HAVE A VERY, VERY SICK SENSE OF HUMOR.

Okay, now that the warning is out of the way, let's get to the review.

FARM SLUTS, not surprisingly, is a very adult comedy starring one of those faceless "Saturday Night Live" actors (I stopped keeping track of them about 1990). However, there is probably no way NBC would let them show this short film on the show as it discusses "animal-human love" and auto-erotic asphyxiation. AGAIN, I DID WARN YOU THAT THIS IS AN ADULT COMEDY.

The main character receives an email from a friend and it features farm animals with women (if you know what I mean). When his coworkers see this on his computer, he's fired and everyone thinks he's a pervert. In fact, he can't get another job because after this and several more misunderstandings just about everyone thinks he's a pervert. This leads to him making several suicide attempts--several of which FURTHER convince everyone he's a sexual deviant. At the end, he finally gets what he wants and the film ends with a very sick (but funny) twist.

Based on the topics covered, this is one of the most adult and darkest comedies around. It is funny, but DON'T watch this at work--if your coworkers see you doing this you could lose your job and everyone might think you are a pervert, etc., etc..

A day in the life of Larry
hideho553 October 2004
What a hilarious short ! professional actors get to flash their schtick as Larry's co-workers, pals, parents, and employers, while Larry - who lost his job "for visiting a pornographic web site on my office computer where women have sex with farm animals" - tries to find employment and some shred of dignity, only to find himself on a quick downward spiral as his reputation follows him, no matter what advice or job leads he follows.

How Larry loses his job, girlfriend, and apartment in one fell swoop sets the tone of this 17 minute farce; and continues as he moves into his parents' basement - what new humiliation must Larry endure before ... peace of mind ? Make sure you catch the end all the way to the credits, and no, that's not Catherine Keener but her sister, Elizabeth, and kudos to the writer/director, Collin Friesen.

nihilistic and unsatisfying

Warning: Spoilers
while well-made, this short lacks a final turnaround. not only that but the story spirals downward without purpose other than to spiral downward.

a man gets fired due to a misunderstanding involving a porn site. then he accidentally kills his dog, and his wife leaves him due to a misunderstanding with the aforementioned dog.

he goes to live with his parents, but each time he is so miserable he wants to die, there is a misunderstanding and he looks like a pervert.

finally he succeeds in killing himself, but a necrophiliac has his way with him at the morgue.

in short it's the story of a man who is unlucky at every turn. there is nothing to redeem the story, or give a sense of closure. in the end he finally dies, but the film's not done torturing him.

it's not the unhappy ending, it's that there's no punchline to make it work.

Mostly ridiculous, but not exactly in a good way

Warning: Spoilers
"Farm Sluts" is an American 17-minute short film in the English language that was written and directed by Collin Friesen back in 2003, which means it has its 15th anniversary next year. For Friesen, it was the very first directorial effort and he took a break of almost a decade again before directing another work, instead focused on writing. I don't know why, but somehow I have a feeling that many people here on IMDb may not have actually seen the film, but instead just liked the title. I may be wrong though because it really isn't difficult at all to find this little movie. The cast includes some actors that you may have come across in other projects like Parnell and Hoffman and for a short movie that's fairly decent already I would say. Sadly the heart and soul of the film, namely the script, was far from fresh and inspiring here and also made it fairly difficult for the actors too shine. This may have been due to Friesen's lack of experience back then still. I am not sure if I laughed or smiled just once while seeing this one and as comedy is only genre that applies to the film, it is quite a disappointment overall. I have to give it a thumbs-down and sadly the humor is really as low as you might guess when reading the title. Not recommended.
