The film was originally shot with Noah Garfinkel as the lead character, but after shooting was completed, the director realized he had miscalculated the light readings and as a result all the footage would be underexposed and unusable. The entire film was completely re-shot only days later with new lead actor, Matt James. Unfortunately, Noah Garfinkel was too busy studying for his final exams to reprise his role in the film's re-shoot.
The first time we hear Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" coming from the mouth of Mr. James, it is intended to be sung at normal speed, but had to be slowed down to about 85% to be in sync with the slightly slower frame rate of the film's actual image.
