This is a documentary on Goodfellas, found on the second DVD of the 2-Disc Special Edition release. It consists entirely of interviews with directors and clips of the movie, with a couple of still photographs as well. They talk about how it affected them, what they think of it and more. The footage is well-chosen, and cut into it quite well. Not all of what is said is equally interesting(at the worst times of this, it is little other than a love-fest for what is, admittedly, an excellent piece of work), and the way it's very chopped up can come off a little harried. This is 14 minutes long, and well-paced. It certainly isn't too long. There's not a lot else to say, really... cinematography and sound don't enter into it, neither are poor or go above and beyond the usual. The majority of their points do make sense, and on the whole, this is worth watching. It's just not the most informative production you can find. This comes with subtitles. The language is as unrestrained as that of the film itself. There is bloody and strong violence featured in the bits of the title that we see. I recommend this to fans of the people in it. 6/10

Fifteen-minute featurette can be found on Warner's 2-disc Special Edition of Martin Scorsese's GOODFELLAS. What we basically have here is a group of filmmakers talking about their appreciation for the film and how it influenced the work that they do. Jon Favreau, Allan and Albert Hughes, Joe Carnahan, Richard Linklater, Antoine Fugua and Frank Darabont are interviewed about the film. As usual, these type of featurettes always work because it's interesting seeing famous people you know talk about movies that you love. All of the directors here are clearly shocked and awed at how wonderful the movie is and they share their stories of the first time they watched it, repeated viewings and how it impacted their own films. Hughes Brothers talk about the impact it had on MENACE II SOCIETY. Favreau talks about how those people in SWINGERS thought they were from the Scorsese movie. Darabont talks about when he was making THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION he'd watch the movie ever Sunday just to give him the fire to try and create something special. The featurette is short enough to be entertaining but at the end there's no question that you'd like to hear more thoughts on the film and hear what else these filmmakers think of not only this film but other works by Scorsese.
