Election day is now underway, and a slew of A-list musicians have continued to voice their support of Hillary Clinton, rallying for the Democratic presidential nominee across the country.
On the eve of the election, Lady Gaga took the stage in North Carolina, addressing Clinton backers at a midnight rally.
“If we are true, true Americans, we must go from viewing his followers as our adversaries to viewing them as our allies. What does she say? What do we say? We are stronger together. And what I see in this remarkable woman is that she is ready to restore peace in this country.

Legendary film critic Roger Ebert has died at the age of 70, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
On April 2, Ebert revealed on his blog that his cancer had returned and that he would be reducing his reviewing duties at the Chicago Sun-Times.
Ebert wrote that he would be taking a “leave of presence," as he underwent radiation treatment, but it appears the cancer was too far gone already.
“It means I am not going away,” Ebert explained. “My intent is to continue to write selected reviews but to leave the rest to a talented team of writers handpicked and greatly admired by me. What's more, I'll be able at last to do what I've always fantasized about doing: reviewing only the movies I want to review.”
The 70-year-old film critic was first diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2002, and cancerous growths were found on his salivary glands a year later, forcing him to...

Who better to lead a veteran cast that includes The Highlander, 30 Days of Night hero Eben Oleson and a Canadian scream queen than John Carl Buechler, the man who helmed Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood, Troll and Cellar Dweller?
The director and special effects wizard returns to the captain's chair after a five-year hiatus from directing to oversee the upcoming Dark Star Hollow, a film about a man who makes a deal with the devil to save the life of his wife.
From the Press Release
While best known for directing part 7 in the Friday the 13th series, Buechler's special make-up effects and other works are well known in films like Nightmare on Elm Street 4, Halloween 4 and Trancers. He is also working on a remake of his classic film, Troll, from 1986.
The cast of Dark Star Hollow includes many familiar faces, forgotten favorites and new blood:

HollywoodNews.com: The word around Capitol Records is that they’re about to launch a re-master re-release program for the Beatles’ Apple Records catalog.
Those were the days, my friend. We thought they’d never end. We were wrong.
The last time someone cleaned up and re-released the Apple catalog was back in 1991. Since then, most of the releases have drifted out of print.
Apple Records was not a great success, but it had its shining moments. The catalog consists of James Taylor’s first album ever, plus albums by Badfinger, Billy Preston, R&B great Doris Troy, Mary Hopkin (pictured), and Jackie Lomax.
There are also early solo albums by Ringo Starr and George Harrison that have fallen by the wayside.
Apple’s shiniest moment, for my money, is Badfinger’s “Straight Up” album, produced by Harrison and Todd Rundgren. It’s just perfection–and that...

If it's summertime, then it just makes sense that ultimate surfer-dude Jack Johnson should be bobbing at the top of the Billboard 200 album charts. The mellow wave-rider's latest, To the Sea, will easily grab the #1 spot next week thanks to sales of 243,000 in one of the best debuts of the year, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.
That tally easily bested the week's #2 album, Justin Bieber's My World 2.0, which nudges up one spot to #2 after moving another 52,000 copies. The only other newcomers in the top 10 are Taio Cruz, whose Rokstarr lands at #8 (24,000) and former "American Idol" runner-up Clay Aiken, who hits #9 with his oldies covers album, Tried & True (22,000).
The rest of the top 10: Glee: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers (#3, 45,000), Lady Antebellum's Need You Now (#4, 41,000), Usher's Raymond v.

Glee: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers

It was a squeaker, but the latest "Glee" soundtrack, Glee: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers, will beat back an advance from the reunited Stone Temple Pilots to hold onto the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 for a second consecutive week. Though sales were down more than 50 percent, Showstoppers still moved nearly 63,000 copies, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.
Just barely behind is the self-titled reunion album from 1990s rockers Stone Temple Pilots, which debuts at #2 on sales of nearly 62,000. At press time, less than 1,400 albums separated the top two discs.
Otherwise it is business as usual in the top 10, with unstoppable teen sensation Justin Bieber climbing up one to #3 with My World 2.0 (50,000), followed by Lady Antebellum's Need You Now (#4, 46,000), Usher's Raymond V. Raymond (#5, 35,000) and Lady Gaga's The Fame,...

Though the economy was still in dire straits, Broadway carried on during the 2009-10 season, with visits from such high-voltage marquee names as Hugh Jackman, Daniel Craig, Christopher Walken, Denzel Washington, Jude Law, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Liev Schreiber, and Scarlett Johansson. A little group called Green Day rocked Broadway's world with the stage adaptation of the band's hit album "American Idiot," Twyla Tharp paid tribute to Frank Sinatra in "Come Fly Away," and Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins formed a "Million Dollar Quartet." "Fela!," Bill T. Jones' combination dance party, concert, and musical biography, transferred to the Main Stem from its Off-Broadway run, as did Geoffrey Nauffts' tender and moving play "Next Fall." "Red" and "Time Stands Still" offered searing portraits of artists coping with crises, while Sarah Ruhl's "In the Next Room or the vibrator play" captured the repressive Victorian era. Broadway fare also...

Roger Ebert is arguably the world's most famous living film critic. In the late 1970s it was both he and Gene Siskel, two Chicago-based newspaper film critics, that hosted the television movie review show Sneak Previews. And like that, suddenly movie reviews started to become pop culture. Without Sneak Previews there likely wouldn't have been an Entertainment Tonight or today's crushing wave of celebrity/movie/television news, reviews and opinion. The modern age of infotainment -- both the good and bad aspects of it -- owes its origin to Siskel, Ebert and public television broadcasting.
By the time Siskel and Ebert left Sneak Previews to start their syndicated At the Movies show, the duo's rating system for a movie, the thumbs up or down, had become universally known. Since his partner's death in 1999, Ebert has continued to review movies, provide film commentary and host his own annual film festival where he interacts with his fans.

Are you as tired of this perfectly timed Kevin Smith/Southwest kerfuffle as we are? Cleanse your palate instead by reading Esquire's exquisite new profile of Roger Ebert, where the legendary, ailing film critic (whose jaw was removed from cancer-caused complications) lets writer Chris Jones in on all matters medical and emotional: "There is no need to pity me, he writes on a scrap of paper one afternoon after someone parting looks at him a little sadly. Look how happy I am." [Esquire]...

Chris Jones at Esquire has written an amazing feature article on Roger Ebert that needs little to no introduction from me. Instead here are a couple of brief passages that only touch on what is covered and in no way are entirely reflective of the piece as a whole. Reading it takes minutes, and I am sure it will occasionally stop you in your tracks. Ebert's dreams are happier. Never yet a dream where I can't talk, he writes on another Post-it note, peeling it off the top of the blue stack. Sometimes I discover - oh, I see! I Can talk! I just forget to do it.
In his dreams, his voice has never left. In his dreams, he can get out everything he didn't get out during his waking hours: the thoughts that get trapped in paperless corners, the jokes he wanted to tell, the nuanced stories he can't quite relate.
