Banda R15 has 2 songs, Luis one, plus shoot-outs!

Tragedia y Muerte is a well constructed movie with not very interesting characters, standard story for 3 quarters of the film but very inventive for the last quarter. The real drawback is that there is no central villain unless you consider the stolen money as such. Rocio Visetti, although in a lesser role, comes out best in the acting department. Luis Michel is OK, and in addition sings one song on a train. Fans of Banda R15 will enjoy their 2 songs from the 1995 album "Con Sangre de Rey". They also have some dialogue with Mr. Michel. The movies music score is routine for the 1st half then picks up in the 2nd. The story starts out in the present, then a flashback for the central plot, then back to the present again. It all involves star Luis Michel as Jose Corona who doesn't want to be on the wrong side of the law, but after being involved in some gun-play, has to depart Mexico by way of train to the U.S. There he meets Mirna, played by Roxana Chavez(in really good shape here) who's husband is involved in the underworld. Jose and Mirna wind up with a million dollars of stolen money and their troubles seem never to end from that point on. Rocio Visetti plays the part of Jose's loyal girlfriend, Yadira. Mário Almada has the role of Jose's father, which is basically a guest star part. Unfortunately he has some unflattering close-ups. If you're a fan of Roxana Chavez, she does get a drunken scene to play. The moral of the story is crime does not pay. And oh yes, there's plenty of blood.
