Masashi Kishimoto is never short on brilliant characters. In fact, the unrivaled backstories of some characters are what makes Naruto as famous as it is. Yet, not even Kishimoto is immune to silly plot mistakes.
Thankfully, he had an editor who could catch such errors before they could reach the public. One such silly idea struck Kishimoto while he was constructing the past Hokage in Naruto.

The 2000s were a truly magical time to grow up. Some of the most successful and captivating cartoons and anime aired during the time. Rushing back home just to catch an episode of Ben 10 or Naruto was probably the golden time of life you will never get back.
Still, these nostalgic series will forever hold a place in the hearts of fans. But did you ever think that these two mega-successful series from different continents would ever refer to each other?
Some fans noticed a startling Naruto reference when they rewinded some old Ben 10 episodes.

Bleach and Naruto, two pillars of the Big Three, have been holding the fort even after so long. While Naruto finished a long time ago, Bleach is still completing its final phase. Still, both series have been at the top of the game for a long time. All thanks to their manga creators, Masashi Kishimoto and Tite Kubo.
Bleach anime by Tite Kubo | Studio Pierrot
Both Kubo and Kishimoto are legends and have inspired many other manga creators. When their manga series was serialized, both of them became rivals to attain the top spot in the industry. However, the rivalry came with mutual respect for each other and their work. This respect was honored by Kubo when he gave a tribute to Kishimoto and his masterpiece.

With Himawari Surpassing Naruto, Kishimoto Needs to Give One Character a Power That Surpasses Sasuke
Naruto has been a lot about legacies as much as it has been about surpassing those legacies. For the titular character to live up to Minato’s reputation and then ahead of it to Sasuke’s journey of the same accord. The story has a lot to do with growth, acceptance, and surpassing already set expectations at their own pace and way.

Generally, anime series are adapted from mangas or comics that have a broad storyline, a bunch of characters, and a central theme. However, there are some anime series that have been adapted from popular video games. The best example of this is Castlevania on Netflix. The series not only got four seasons but also had a spin-off sequel.

Castlevania was created and written by Warren Ellis and is based on the Japanese action-adventure video game series. Hiromu Arakawa's "Fullmetal Alchemist" is one of the best manga/anime ever drawn. It's one of my favorites, and stands out among the crowded "battle shōnen" demographic. Rather than the fantastic Japanese setting of contemporary series like "Naruto" and "Bleach," "Fullmetal Alchemist" is more inspired by the West (though not without its translation hiccups).
Set in a version of 20th century Europe where alchemy is fact, not fiction, "Fullmetal Alchemist" follows brothers Edward and Alphonse "Ed and Al" Elric. The two young alchemists tried to bring their mother back to life, breaking the "ultimate taboo" of human transmutation. The experiment backfired, robbing Ed of his right arm and left leg and Al of his whole body. In their disabled states, they embark on a quest to find the Philosopher's Stone. The Stone can bypass the fundamental law of alchemy and, the brothers believe, restore their bodies.

The final war between the Heroes and All for One in My Hero Academia has come to an end. Chapter 423 showcased the final moments of the battle as Izuku landed his last punch on All for One.
Izuku Landing a Punch on All for One | Viz Media
While the ending of the series was spot on, many fans believed that My Hero Academia might follow the path of Naruto and make the antagonist of the series, Shigaraki Tomura, switch sides and help the heroes take down the main villain. This would have made My Hero Academia a copy of Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto.
Fortunately, Horikoshi knew what he was doing, and he gave his story the perfect ending that did justice to the characters of Shigaraki, Izuku,...

Masashi Kishimoto is a master of bending techniques to serve characters. You can nitpick all you want, but the plotholes in Naruto are too small to serve as real arguments against the ability of the author.
Yet, one question arose multiple times in the Naruto fandom: why did Masashi Kishimoto use the Edo Tensei to bring back Madara when the Rinne Tensei was lying right there?
Masashi Kishimoto Explains Why Madara had to be Brought Back by Edo Tensei
Madara Reincarnated | Naruto Fandom
The reason Masashi Kishimoto introduced Edo Tensei was to revive Madara Uchiha. It would have been complicated to revive him through the Rinne Tensei. In an interview, Kobayashi and Masashi Kishimoto discussed the differences between the techniques and why only one could be used for Madara’s return.
So why did Madara not use Rinne Tensei? It’s because Rinne Tensei would resurrect him in his mortal body.

Masashi Kishimoto loves character development more than anything and the theme is prevalent even in his villains. The backstories of characters like Itachi and Obito were what made Naruto iconic.
The author loves to draw out characters bit by bit, but unfortunately, his ideas did not receive enough appreciation from his editors, causing him to cut his ideas short. Regardless, he still came up with some memorable characters.

The latest One Piece episode brought with it a lot of exciting events, but it also may have triggered the fans of the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, Sanji. In episode 1105, which was released on May 18, 2024, fans were able to point out a change in one of the scenes from the manga that resulted in Sanji missing out on his epic moment.
Sanji – One Piece | Toei Animation
This led to fans getting angry with Toei Animation for not doing justice to the character of Sanji, and some even claimed that the studio is biased towards Zoro and favors the swordsman between the two. Zoro and Sanji already have a rivalry going on, and fans believe that cutting out scenes like this undermines Sanji’s importance as a character.
Some fans even targeted the One Piece animator Henry Thurlow, who is part of the One Piece anime staff at Toei Animation.

The recent wave of live-action adaptations of popular series has caught up with many prominent anime and manga series like One Piece, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, etc. Fans are always hoping for their favorite anime and manga to get a live-action adaptation to experience their world more realistically.
Bleach Anime
However, Bleach fans might never be able to get this satisfaction. Bleach’s creator, Tite Kubo, once revealed that he doesn’t want Bleach to be adapted into a live-action series or movie because he drew the series specifically to be featured as a manga. He even went on to say that if Bleach’s live-action was possible, he wouldn’t have drawn the manga.
Despite this, Kubo’s magnum opus did receive a live-action adaptation movie in 2018, and it might not have been as successful as the One Piece live-action series, but it still got decent reception and reviews.

Have you ever heard a song in a movie or TV show that’s so good that it inspires your muses? I’m one of those people who listens to music when she writes, and many of those songs come from a movie or TV show that slips in a tune that I have to listen to on repeat. A recent gem on the list is from the second season of Invincible from singer-songwriter d4vd. “Feel It” is peak writing fuel for my muses, so I was thrilled to learn that d4vd is also someone who’s inspired by the media around him. “I wrote songs like ‘Here With Me’ after watching the Disney movie Up ,” he said in our interview, and boy, does that add a Lot of context to that song. d4vd is also a huge anime fan, as seen when watching his videos. Comparisons between Naruto and Luffy have been going on since both characters entered the anime and manga worlds. Both of them have uncanny similarities as the main characters of Naruto and One Piece, but they also differ in terms of ambitions, mindsets, and the way they deal with their problems.
Naruto in Naruto Shippuden
However, the biggest comparison that fans have made between the two characters is regarding their way of dealing with their enemies during fights and battles. Both of them follow a different approach while fighting villains. While Luffy adapts in the middle of the battle, Naruto is known to employ unique tricks with the help of his jutsus.
Although using new tricks in dealing with the enemies does make the battle intriguing, Luffy’s ability to learn in the middle of the battle proves that he has a better battle Iq than Naruto, despite being the dumber character of the two.

If the '90s had the surprise hit "Dragon Ball Z," the '00s had "Naruto," and the 2010s had "Attack on Titan," then the 2020s unequivocally belong to "Demon Slayer." The manga by Koyuharu Gotouge and its anime adaptation by studio Ufotable took the world by storm the moment they debuted, with the manga becoming one of the best-selling ever, while the anime became an instant hit. The first film, "Demon Slayer: Mugen Train," overcame Hayao Miyazaki's classic "Spirited Away" to become the highest-grossing Japanese film ever in Japan and the highest-grossing film of 2020 worldwide.
Even its subsequent movies, which are literally just compilations of previously-released season finales plus the first episode of the following season, have made some serious cash, leading us to dub the latest movie, "To the Hashira Training," as a savior of cinema at a time when the box office desperately needed help. The Ghost of Uchiha was a legendary shinobi whose name struck fear in the hearts of people. As a result, his name alone forced the five Shinobi Nations to join hands, something that had never happened before.

Often, the special ingredient behind a successful villain is a tera-jerker backstory. You can see it in My Hero Academia (Shigaraki), Naruto (Itachi Uchiha), and many other hit anime. Yet, Tite Kubo managed to create one of the biggest anime villains with absolutely no backstory.
Aizen, the slimy (and handsome) antagonist of Bleach, has conquered innumerable hearts. But how? Tite Kubo never gave him a proper backstory. No one knows why he has an evil mentality. Worst of all! You can’t even tell if you should sympathize with him or not. Turns out Kubo never gave much of an explanation for his intentions on purpose.

Ninjas, or shinobi, live in the popular imagination as much as samurai when one thinks of great warriors from ancient Japan. While the image of the samurai carries with it an excellent swordsman endowed with composure and honor, the image of the ninja is characterized by his stealth techniques, creative weapons, and the reputation of infiltrating with perfection. Throughout history, many works of fiction have interpreted the image of ninjas, both in productions from Japan and abroad — even part of Bruce Wayne's training to become Batman comes from techniques and equipment typically used by ninjas. They are commonly set in ancient Japan or exiled clans that seem frozen in time, some contain touches of fantasy but often stick to realism. Related: All Naruto Arcs in Order Including Shippuden and Boruto One work of fiction started with the theme of ninjas, reinterpreted and applied in a fantasy world, but added its own rules,...

The original Japanese version of Ishiro Honda's kaiju classic "Gojira" -- previously bowdlerized by American translators as "Godzilla" -- wasn't released in American theaters until 2004 to coincide with the film's 50th anniversary. Up until then, American audiences had to content themselves with the 1956 film "Godzilla, King of the Monsters!," a heavily re-edited version of "Gojira" that included new scenes of actor Raymond Burr narrating the action. The footage was directed by Terry O. Morse.
When "Gojira" was finally released in 2004, not every critic was pleased. Most audiences accepted that Honda's film more or less birthed the kaiju genre, and established a persistent pop culture icon that persists to this day. Roger Ebert acknowledged that "Gojira" could be significant while also being completely shabby. He gave the film only one and a half stars, saying it was "idiotic." Bleach is one of the Big Three of anime. Even though it did not reach the same popularity as Naruto and One Piece, it still played a crucial role in changing the course of the manga and anime industry for the better. Bleach revolves around Ichigo Kurosaki, who met a female shinigami, Rukia Kuchiki, and later became a substitute shinigami.
Tite Kubo did a great job with his magnum opus, but the fans always felt that the ending was rushed and could have been explored more. While most fans thought it was due to Shueisha forcing Kubo to wrap up the manga in a limited time, it was actually the mangaka who wanted the manga to end. The Thousand Year Blood War arc suffered a rushed ending.

Eiichiro Oda found both a friend and a direct competitor in the form of Masashi Kishimoto. One Piece has often taken inspiration from Naruto and vice versa. Letting go of hostility, a friendly competition was accepted between the two that let their works grow in fame as each chapter came out. Kishimoto’s work is one that has inspired many. Whether it is the heroes or the villains, even the powers; a lot can be found inspiring.

Oda is not one to shy away from the same. He wanted to take inspiration, much like any other renowned mangaka. There can be the biggest things and even the smallest ones that give the much-needed push. However, the ability that took birth from that also gave way to a terrifying villain.
