The first footage from the upcoming season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow‘s Season 3 — screened on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con — promises “a greater evil” and, among many other things, offers a glimpse of guest star Billy Zane as politician/showman P.T. Barnum.

I must admit, I was unsure just how the Legends Of Tomorrow would work on The CW. In the comics, Rip Hunter is not a huge figure, and most of the cast of characters for the show are not either. I did not feel the show would be cohesive.
I was completely wrong. The cast has a wonderful bond, and even Mick Rory, aka Heatwave (played by Dominic Purcell), has become a redeemable character from his old ways. Yes, he holds demons in his past, as do most of the characters on the show, but at this point wouldn't you say he is at least an anti-hero?
Well today, thanks to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, it seems that the first episode of Season 3 will be based on his last wish, which is to head off to Aruba and "chill out," and the title will be "Aruba-Con." Take a look at...

"Celebrating the Fourth of July early?"
The conclusion of the four-part crossover event came to a conclusion with the latest episode of Legends of Tomorrow. With this week bringing an emotional roller coaster to each individual show it was nice to see that with the final installment there was still a lot of humor in this episode. The theme and focus of Legends have definitely shifted a lot of the past two seasons but recently in the past four weeks it has hit its stride being an overall fun show and not taking itself too seriously. The final installment saw the collective whole of heroes battling against the alien race known as the Dominators. In the first time in television history we saw a group of shows carry over the same story arc and see a united team front. With everything in mind from all the episodes these were the...

Last week I gave a review of the Suicide Squad movie. This week, I’m talking about my trip to NYC for the premiere.
I got in to the East Coast on 7/31 and stayed with my friends Tam and Kev English over in New Jersey, near to where I used to live. Tom Mandrake and Jan Duursema, who also live in the area, were going to be in town Sunday night before going on a trip so we all got together for a nice meal. Hilarity ensued.
Tom and Jan also gave me a box full of Kros: Hallowed Ground booty. This is stuff that will be going out to our subscribers and it is killer cool.
I took the train into Manhattan on Monday to join my old bud and oft-time editor and my date for the evening, the lovely and effervescent Mike Gold. We were meeting for a pre-festivities lunch.

Star Wars’ scruffy-lookin’ nerf herder, Mr Han Solo, is getting his own movie. Here’s what we know...
Possible spoilers (we're guessing, though) lie ahead for Rogue One, and for the Han Solo movie.
So, Han Solo is getting a spin-off movie. As part of Disney’s cinematic expansion of the Star Wars saga, a prequel film is now in development to explore the backstory of Harrison Ford’s iconic war hero/smuggler. The only cast member currently confirmed is Alden Ehrenreich, who has been handed some very big shoes/cool black waistcoats to fill as the new Han Solo.
And before you dismiss this movie as a bad idea, it’s worth remembering that Phil Lord and Chris Miller are the guys directing it. They’ve already brought us Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, the 21 Jump Street revival and The Lego Movie. If there’s...

Well well, heard any news about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story recently? Here's your soundtrack for this post:
It all started with a source telling Page Six: “The execs at Disney are not happy with the movie, and Rogue One will have to go back into four weeks of expensive reshoots in July.”
At the bottom of the post was an additional comment from the source that alleviated a bit of worry for me (worry spurred by the “Disney in panic” headline): “The filmmaking team and the studio always anticipated additional shooting and second unit work to make the film the absolute best it can be, and the actors were aware there would be additional shooting. Coming off The Force Awakens, there’s an incredibly high bar for this movie and we have a responsibility to the franchise and to the fans to deliver the best possible movie we can.

The cast of "Legends of Tomorrow" looks amazing in these new promotional photos. They also look ready to take on disco in this fun new promo for the pilot, which debuts in January. This new promo, titled "Humanity's Last Hope", shows the characters in a different light -- a more humorous light. While the "Legends" team is tasked with saving the world -- albeit an important job -- this promo also shows they can have some fun while doing it. Check out the cast photos and new promo below: "Legends of Tomorrow" premieres January 21, 2016 on The CW. ...

The cast of the upcoming Hyrule Warriors Legends was already pretty stacked, but the latest addition to the team may be the most surprising. For the first time in the history of the Zelda franchise, a gender-swapped take on protagonist Link will be playable.
Going by the not particularly clever name of Linkle, this female version of the iconic hero features her own unique skills. Instead of wielding a sword like her male counter-part, Linkle dual-wields crossbows, and can also unleash some pretty potent kicks in order to take down the army of foes that stand in her way. As previously announced, gamers will be able to transfer Linkle, as well as the other members of the Hyrule Warriors Legends cast, to the original Wii U version of the title.
For those that followed the Wii U version of Hyrule Warriors, the news of Linkle may not be too surprising.

I guess I thought this would be the bone that was thrown to us Star Wars news-seekers on the heels of them murdering the Expanded Universe and thereby robbing me of the Star Wars stuff I actually got to purely enjoy as a youth.
I had a friend in elementary school named Nathan and we'd play Star Wars on the playground. He taught me the tech specs of the different star fighters and he introduced me to the Expanded Universe comics and novels.
Throughout my friendship with Nathan, we'd play the crappy Star Wars video games, including N64's launch title Shadows of the Empire. We stood in line for each of the re-master theatrical releases and soaked in movies we'd memorized and puzzled over how the changes made weren't always for the best (you know, the Greedo thing, amongst other stuff). Then, the prequels were announced and we all got excited,...

(Cbr) In a preview video posted last week by The CW, "Arrow" executive producer Marc Guggenheim stated the following about this week's installment, "The Promise": "This is the biggest episode we've ever done on the show to date." Those are very bold words from the veteran TV and comic book writer, and Cbr News spoke with him to find out exactly what he's so enthused about in the flashback-heavy episode written by Jake Coburn and Ben Sokolowski. Following the ending of last week's "Time of Death," which saw Oliver (Stephen Amell) discover that Slade (played by Manu Bennett and better known to DC Comics fans as Deathstroke) was not only alive but in Starling City and meeting with Moira (Susanna Thompson), "The Promise" is set to detail exactly how things went so terribly wrong between Oliver and Slade on Lian Yu. "Slade's presence just changes everything," Guggenheim told Cbr.

007 Legends is looking to live up to its name in more than just the movies it incorporates. Written by Bruce Feirstein, who is not only responsible for a few of the film adaptations but has previously worked with Activision on both 007 Everything or Nothing and the Goldeneye 007 remake, the game was already going to be crafted by a legend – now we know that it will be voiced by some as well.
As announced exclusively to MTV, Richard Kiel will be reprising his role as Jaws in 007 Legends. He may not be renown for talking, but there is clearly no one more capable of bringing the classic chomp back to life than the original actor himself. Similarly, the main Moonraker villain Hugo Drax will be voiced by the man who played him in the movies, Michael Londsdale.

Two veteran Bond film actors join the voice cast of the Eon Productions' shooter, while also adding longtime film and game writer Bruce Feirstein.
Find out who'll be giving Moonraker henchman Jaws his bite and who'll be filling the villainous shoes of the goateed space case Hugo Drax after the jump.
Activision has revealed to us that Richard Kiel will be reprising his role as Jaws, the brawny man of few words with the metal teeth in the Moonraker portion of 007 Legends. If you'll recall, the structure of the game will have Daniel Craig's James Bond progressing through the stories of Bond films past, of which 1979's Moonraker is one. The actor will be lending his likeness and voice to the role (although Jaws wasn't much for talking).

Sunday July 15th is the last day of Comic-Con 2012, and most of us will be completely worn out looking like Spider-Man in the image above. Chances are he's asleep under that mask. Sunday has always been a cool down day for us, we kind of just try to relax a little bit more and enjoy it. That doesn't mean their isn't anything to see or do though!
We've got a Fringe screening and Q&A, Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer 20th Anniversary, Sons of Anarchy, the annual Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical screening, and more! I've always wanted to go the Buffy musical sing-a-long, but am usually trying to leave San Diego before it starts.
Just a little reminder, we will be having our annual GeekTyrant meet up this year to meet our readers, which is something we always enjoy doing! That will take place on Wednesday night, and...

Coinciding with the 50th Anniversary of the Bond series, anticipation couldn’t be any higher for Daniel Craig’s third turn as the iconic secret agent in the upcoming Skyfall.
Directed by Sam Mendes with a cast that includes Judi Dench, Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes, Skyfall features a smorgasbord of respected Oscar talent. It even has the legendary Coen Brothers regular Roger Deakins on cinematography duties, making it clear that this isn’t just any run of the mill Bond film. But while excitement is high for Bond’s 23rd outing on the big screen, the secret agent also has to compete with the London Olympics and the Queens Golden Jubilee for the world’s attention.
As well as the release of Skyfall and a 50th anniversary Blu-ray box set of all 22 Bond films, a celebratory video game titled 007 Legends has also been recently announced. Best described as a...

To Kill A Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Edition (Universal) Robert Mulligan’s film of Harper Lee’s landmark novel pits a liberal-minded lawyer (Gregory Peck) against a small Southern town’s racism when defending a black man (Brock Peters) on trumped-up rape charges. One of the 1960s’ first landmark films, a truly stirring human drama that hits all the right notes and isn’t dated a bit. Robert Duvall makes his screen debut (sans dialogue) as the enigmatic Boo Radley. DVD and Blu-ray double edition. Bonuses: Two feature-length documentaries: Fearful Symmetry and A Conversation with Gregory Peck; Featurettes; Excerpts and film clips from Gregory Peck’s Oscar acceptance speech and AFI Lifetime Achievement Award; Commentary by Mulligan and producer Alan J. Pakula; Trailer. Widescreen. Dolby and DTS 2.0 mono.

hollywoodnews.com: Busy week on the books here at Awards Alley, with several guilds expected to single out their choices for “Best of 2011” as we inch closer to the Oscar nominations on Jan. 24. The Producers Guild will be up first, and we’ll cover those 10 selections once they are revealed.
In the meantime, we have noticeable wins from the Capri, Hollywood – the International Film Festival in Rome for contenders who hope to hear their names called on Oscar morning. And as we have been saying, every little bit of recognition leading up to Oscar nominations matters.
Best Actor at the fest went to Michael Fassbender, who delivered an amazing performance in Steve McQueen’s “Shame” but still needs to overcome the film’s controversially frank approach to hardcore sex.
Best Actress winner Berenice Bejo, meanwhile, continues to ride a wave of goodwill for her involvement in her husband’s winning picture,...

Everyone around the office has been raving about this amazing book, so much so that I have no problem giving it my complete endorsement. Everyone who considers themselves a horror fan should go buy it. Right now. Seriously. Go.
All right… I guess you can read this first and then go buy it.
John Landis’ Monsters In The Movies: 100 Years Of Cinematic Nightmares is a venerable treasure trove of horror history, containing gems from all the way back in the silent era to today’s CGI blockbuster creations. More so, this is one of those rare books that you should feel free to judge by its cover.
Before it's even opened, it steals your very soul...
Split into chapters based on the different types of monsters, the book contains separate sections for Vampires, Werewolves, Mad Scientists, Zombies, Ghosts, Mummies, Myths Legends & Fairy Tales, Monstrous Apes, Atomic Mutations, The Devil’s Work (The Devil,...

Where would the internet be without fan-made films? Along with debatably trustworthy trivia-facts, identity theft scams, free pornography and seemingly endless film-critics (ahem), fan-made films are one of the World Wide Web’s oldest and most staple trademarks. Indeed, it’s a hobby / passion that has been revolutionised by the web, allowing fans to easily create and share their work to potentially millions Worldwide rather than just collecting dust on their VHS shelves and occasionally being revisited when unknowing friends were tricked into coming round for ‘film’ night.
So to celebrate this increasingly popular art I decided to create a list of my 10 personal favourite additions to the genre, in order no less. I had to trawl through hundreds and hundreds of (to be honest) teeth-gnashingly awful nominations to find these, so please enjoy and let me know if there’s something you think I’ve missed!

Between living in the Los Angeles area and writing about pop culture as a career, we have had a lot of brushes with celebrity this year. In the past twelve months we've conducted more than 110 interviews with big stars, rising stars and wanna be stars. From the red carpet at the Emmys to jury duty with a pop culture twist, it's been a year filled with idols, unknown gems and several random encounters. Here's our top ten.
10. The Pop Culture Trifecta — Nellie, Mary Ann and Cissy
We hit the pop culture trifecta the night we went to a book signing including Alison Arngrim (Nellie from Little House on the Prairie), Dawn Wells (Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island) and Kathy Garver (Cissy from Family Affair). And if we had to choose the best moment of the night it would have to be Alison telling us all about...
