Updated: There has been another round of content removal from Disney+, this time in the Emea region, which consists of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More than 120 titles have been taken off this week, primarily Disney Channel original movies and vintage Disney live-action films, as well as a few series, including Zeke and Luther, Pepper Ann, So Random and the first three seasons of Nat Geo’s Genius and ESPN/Nat Geo docs.
According to sources, the takedowns were a result of a library title review. There have been several content purges at Disney+ over the last year amid cost-cutting, most notably the removal of a slew of original series last May.
Here is a list of movie titles that are said to be gone from Disney+ in Emea, compiled by Drew Ryan.
A Tale of Two Critters
America’s Heart and Soul
Angry Sky (ESPN)
Babes in Toyland...

Wondering which Disney Channel Original Movies have made it onto the Disney+ platform? We've got you covered.
Zoom, zoom, zoom. Make my heart go boom boom. Disney+ is here.
Much of the focus around the launch of Disney's new streaming service platform has been on its flashiest of assets—your Star Wars and your Marvel movies and TV shows. But Disney is a massive media conglomerate with more assets in one of its mouse ears than most media companies have in their whole being. Yes, we're talking about Disney Channel Original Movies (affectionately known as Dcom).
You've got your Zenon (Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, Zenon: The Zequel, and Zenon: Z3). You've got your High School Musical (the original, High School Musical 2, and Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure). You've got your Luck of the Irish. If you are an older millennial or anyone who enjoys earnest,...

Why is it that the idea of a child seeing an adult rated movie is bad, but games are not seen as a problem?
The games industry often suffers attacks from the media, taking the blame for various horrible incidents that happen out in the world. As soon as a youth perpetrates some kind of heinous act, it seems that there's no shortage of blame to be slapped onto videogames. GTA, Call of Duty, Street Fighter, Mass Effect and many others have been blamed for everything from murders and drunk driving, to bullying and even rickets (yes, really). Even the harmless sandboxer, Minecraft, has been a scapegoat for school-related violence.
Games are an easy target for this kind of social blame, and they're just the latest in a long line of hobbies, interests and media to take the flak. Movies, music, comics, books, they've all had their fair share of whipping boy duty,...

Let’s face it. We can’t hide it. We all have those movies that we like that others would shun. These are guilty pleasures: the ones that aren’t that great but we love for some reason or another. Here are mine. Be sure to list yours in the comments, if you’d like.
Last Action Hero (1993)
Rotten Tomatoes: 38%
Actors: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Austin O’Brien, F. Murray Abraham, Art Carney, Charles Dance
Director: John McTiernan/Writers: Shane Black and David Arnott
Here’s the thing: I will defend this movie’s concept till Doomsday. A movie about a kid with a magic ticket that gets pulled into an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie? Genius concept. Yes, the kid is annoying. Yes, the movie doesn’t reach the heights of a McTiernan/Black team-up as well as one might think. It’s interesting to note that McTiernan isn’t working as much...

Great games are often overlooked for many reasons; although some may garner critical acclaim, the general gaming community may never take notice and great titles become commercial failures. Such is the case of the Game Boy Color game, "Shantae." While there are many reasons why the game may not have resonated with many gamers (it was released at the end of the handheld's life cycle, starred a very girly looking genie, etc.) one thing is very clear; outside of a devout group of fans, the game came and went with little attention paid to it.
That was nine years ago. Since then, WayForward Technologies has moved on to work on some of gaming's most cherished franchises, like "Contra" and "Batman." They also announced a Gameboy Advance sequel to "Shantae," but scrapped it. From the dust of that cancellation, arose an episodic DSi version that was eventually melded into one release,...

Disney Channel has found the Schwa.
A network spokesperson confirmed that the channel has an option on Neal Shusterman's book The Schwa Was Here. The author is writing the script for the telefilm project.
The book, published in 2004 by Dutton Juvenile, is narrated by an eighth-grader named Antsy Bonano who tells the story of a classmate, Calvin Schwa, who tends to go through life completely unnoticed and unseen, to the point of being "invisible."
Shusterman's relationship with Disney Channel extends back to the 2004 movie Pixel Perfect, one of the network's highest-rated telefilms of that year.

SoapNet has greenlighted a new original series to begin in June. Back-to-back half-hour episodes of Soapography, which profiles leading soap opera actors, will begin running weekends between 6-7 p.m. The Walt Disney Co.-owned channel has yet to decide how many episodes will be ordered or which production company will produce them. Susan Lucci, Deidre Hall, Rebecca Budig and Peter Bergman are among the soap stars expected to get Soapography treatment. SoapNet has launched only two original series in its four-year history: the Emmy-nominated talk show Soap Talk and Soap Center, which no longer produces new episodes. The channel, which is in 37 million homes, subsists largely on rebroadcasts of ABC daytime programming. Sister cable network Disney Channel has greenlighted a third installment to its original movie franchise Halloweentown to air in the fall. Debbie Reynolds, Kimberly J. Brown, Joey Zimmerman and Judith Hoag will return for Halloweentown 3, which goes into production next week. Writer Dan Berendsen (The Scream Team) and director Mark Dippe (Pixel Perfect) are working on Halloweentown 3. The film will be executive produced by Sheri Singer (Right on Track).
