Gotham Knights season 2 won’t be moving forward at The CW. This cancellation isn’t shocking as the show seemed to struggle from the start. Despite a talented cast and a fan-favorite Batman lore, Gotham Knights did not find the viewers it needed to be considered successful. Even though Gotham Knights was shown on The CW, it wasn’t part of the Arrowverse. Instead, it became part of The CW’s first big attempt to break away completely from the Arrowverse after it was shared that Superman & Lois was not set on Earth-Prime. The plot of Gotham Knights saw the death of...

This article contains The Flash spoilers.
The Flash begins its final run of episodes with an hour that will delight longtime Arrowverse fans—and sets up a dramatic new possibility for the series’ endgame. “It’s My Party and I’ll Die If I Want To” may be most memorable for the fact that it brings back former Arrow stars Stephen Amell and David Ramsey—as well as The Flash favorite Keiynan Lonsdale—but it’s the show’s massive change to the very fabric of the Arrowverse as it has been understood since the events of the 2020 mega-crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths that may be the most impactful.
It’s hard to imagine an episode where Barry Allen’s death (however brief it might be) is only the third most interesting thing that happens during it, but here we are. Not only does Sendhil Ramamurthy’s villainous Bloodwork attempt...

With “The Flash” coming to an end on The CW later this year, only one Arrowverse show will be left standing. But, according to DC heads James Gunn and Peter Safran, fans can look forward to at least one more season of “Superman & Lois.”
In announcing the upcoming slate for DC movies and television, Gunn and Safran touched on the fates of both “Gotham Knights” and “Superman & Lois,” two of the only superhero shows currently left on the network, the latter of which is still waiting to premiere on The CW. While they didn’t reveal much in the way of “Gotham Knights,” Gunn did offer some insight into “Superman & Lois.”
“‘Superman & Lois’ has got one or two more seasons,” Gunn said. “It’s a show everybody likes, so it’s gonna keep going for a little bit.”

A well-rumored crossover between DC’s Stargirl and at least one other live-action superhero series looks more and more like the real deal.
On the heels of Reddit reports and such (including the spying of “Blue Valley High School” signage on a Titans set in Toronto), Stargirl/Courtney Whitmore herself, Brec Bassinger, has added much fuel to the crossover fire.

PARIS -- The Printemps du Cinema, France's annual spring promotion which lures audiences to the movies with cut-price tickets, kicked off Sunday with 1.1 million admissions, a 30% increase over last year's first-day figure, organizers said Monday. The National Federation of French Cinemas (FNCF), which has organized the three-day promotion since 2000, attributed Sunday's turnout to the diversity of new Hollywood and French releases, including The Pink Panther, Underworld: Evolution, French comedies Du jour au lendemain (One Fine Day) and Essaye-moi (Try Me) and black-and-white animation film Renaissance. The holdover strength of earlier releases such as Prime, Fauteuils d'orchestre (Orchestra Seats) and L'Ivresse du pouvoir (Comedy of Power) also contributed to film admissions on the first day. The strong showing Sunday was also helped by French hit comedy Les Bronzes 3 - amis pour la vie (Friends Forever) which crossed 10.1 million admissions this weekend, and another French comedy, Je vous trouve tres beau (You Are So Beautiful), which crossed the 3 million mark, the FNCF added.

Uma Thurman has a new best friend. As Prime started production Wednesday, Thurman has taken over the leading role following Sandra Bullock's departure from the project. And Annie Parisse has joined the cast to play Katherine, the best buddy of Thurman's character. Thurman entered the picture late last month after Bullock withdrew over issues regarding script approval. Thurman plays a woman who falls in love with the son (Bryan Greenberg) of her therapist (Meryl Streep). Ben Younger is directing from his own script. Jennifer and Suzanne Todd, Bob Yari and Mark Gordon are producing, with Universal Pictures distributing. "We are thrilled to have it all up and running," Suzanne Todd said. Parisse most recently shot Monster-in-Law for New Line Cinema and will be seen in the Walt Disney Co.'s National Treasure with Nicolas Cage. She also appeared in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days with Kate Hudson. She is repped by the Gersh Agency.

Now that Sandra Bullock has stepped away from writer-director Ben Younger's Prime, Uma Thurman has risen to the top of the list of possible replacements for the project, which is set to begin filming Sept. 7. Although no offer has been made yet, Thurman, who most recently starred in the Kill Bill movies, is likely to be paged to play a thirtysomething woman who falls for the son (Bryan Greenberg) of her therapist (Meryl Streep). Bullock has signaled that she will not do the film unless script issues are resolved to her approval (HR 8/26). The film is being produced by Team Todd and financed and executive produced by Stratus Films. Universal and Focus are distributing.

Two weeks before Prime is set to begin filming, Sandra Bullock has dropped out of the project -- at least for the moment. Bullock was to have starred as a thirtysomething woman who falls for her therapist's twentysomething son in the screenplay by Ben Younger, who will also direct. But according to a representative for the actress, Bullock, who has script approval, was not satisfied with the latest draft turned in early this month. While confirming that Bullock is off the project, the rep said that she still might do the movie if a script can be agreed upon. A source close to the producers indicated that the film had been in preproduction for more than two months, including cast readings and costume fittings in which Bullock fully participated. The producers expect that she will continue to uphold her contractual commitment to the film's Sept. 7 start date. Team Todd is producing, with Stratus Films financing and Stratus principal Bob Yari executive producing along with Mark Gordon. Universal, which has a first-look deal with Stratus, is releasing the picture domestically, with Focus Features handling international rights. It remains unclear what project Bullock might do next if she is no longer in Prime. Warner Independent Pictures/Killer Films is in early negotiations with the actress to star in their upcoming Truman Capote feature Every Word Is True, which is due to start shooting in January. Bullock is repped by CAA.

Universal Pictures has struck a deal for domestic distribution rights for the romantic comedy Prime, starring Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep. Universal specialty arm Focus Features will handle all international sales on the Stratus Film Co. project, which is in preproduction with a fall start planned. Written and to be directed by Ben Younger, Prime centers on a successful thirtysomething woman (Bullock) who inadvertently falls for the twentysomething son of her therapist (Streep). Jennifer Todd and Suzanne Todd are producing, with Stratus' Bob Yari and Mark Gordon serving as executive producers. International sales are being handled at AFM. "We are really excited by this project, and it's great to have Focus on board," Yari said. " 'Prime' combines great comedic writing and a very talented young director with a really, really strong cast. Having both Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep in the same film is about as good as it gets."...

Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep are teaming to star in Ben Younger's feature Prime, which Mark Gordon and Bob Yari's Stratus Film Co. is negotiating to acquire, sources confirmed. The romantic comedy -- being produced by Team Todd sisters Suzanne and Jennifer Todd -- is a New York-set story that centers around the emotion and humor that ensues when a 22-year-old painter from Brooklyn falls in love with a 37-year-old career woman (Bullock) from the Upper East Side. Streep is attached to play the Bullock character's therapist. The part of the young male painter has yet to be cast. Younger will direct from his own script. Although deals are still being worked out, it is expected that Yari and Gordon will receive some sort of producer credit, common on all Stratus projects. The pieces of the project came together recently after Younger signed on for representation at CAA, home to both Streep and Bullock. Younger wrote and directed Boiler Room, starring Giovanni Ribisi and Ben Affleck, for New Line Cinema. Team Todd also produced Boiler Room. Bullock recently re-upped her Warner Bros. Pictures production pact while also signing on to star in a sequel to Miss Congeniality. Streep next stars in HBO's Angels in America.
