Alexo: I don't believe in God, I'm not a religious man. But nature is nature. Even animals know who is male and who is female. But my son, he doesn't know... and that's stupidity.

inspirational and insightful
I saw the film Broken quite a few times and everytime I watched the film I appreciated it even more. Personally, I think that the director, Tony Radevski, tapped in to what the father and son relationship was really about and captured the essence of what their relationship was 15 years ago and how far it has come. It was interesting to see how the father and son thought of each other throughout the 15 years that they did not speak and to what they think of each other now that they are beginning to re-establish their relationship as a family. The other interesting aspect of the film was seeing the real emotion that was felt by the son, father and the mother. The mother's role in the film was envoking because although she had her own beliefs about was it "right" and what is "wrong" about her son, she made it clear that she loves her son regardless of his lifestyle. This film makes the audience aware that even though in 2003 homosexuality is more "out there" family values and opinions still play a major role in all parties concerned.
