  • A couple brief instances of clothed kissing and caressing.

Violence & Gore

  • A big group fight a small group. The police turn up and arrest some of the thugs.
  • Matt gets insulted throughout the film by a gang although in a banter manner.
  • A gang fights a few different rival gangs in three or four scenes. There are kicks, punches, headbutts, tackles, etc. and in one of them, weapons such as knives, sticks, and batons are used. We mostly see some bloodied noses and maybe mouths, although it becomes more bloody near the end.
  • In one of the fights, a man is stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle. We see bleeding before he is rushed off to a hospital. In another one, a man knocks down a young man after an exchange of words, and beats him with a series of strikes to the face as he lies partly unconscious. We see blood streamed over his face.
  • A young man is accosted by 3 thugs, who are about to give him a chelsea grin using a credit card. A gang arrives and saves him before any damage happens, attacking the 3 thugs in a street brawl manner.
  • A man bashes a cafe customer's head on a table a few times after a short exchange. Blood is not shown.

Profanity

  • The derogatory term "Paki" is used to describe a South Asian man. A hooligan being arrested by a Black police officer describes him as a "monkey".
  • Pervasive language.
  • 240 uses of "fuck", 20 uses of "cunt", 13 uses of "shit", 4 uses of "bollocks", and 1 use of "tits", "fanny", and "wanker".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man snorts cocaine while sitting on a toilet (short). The cocaine is mostly obscured.
  • A fair bit of smoking and drinking. There are roughly 5 scenes that take place in bars.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Many gang fights throughout and it is very realistic.
  • A man argues with his brother about some bruises on his wife's brother.
  • The film depicts football hooligans in a very realistic way to the point where they drink, and fight.
  • Many violent scenes are very realistically bloody and explicitly harsh.
  • Themes of rebellion, reputation, and revenge are portrayed at a very high level.
  • The last fight is dramatic and contains a couple of potentially intense moments.

Violence & Gore

  • In a flashback, it is implied that a man gets his skull crushed during a gang fight.
  • The gang found out about Matt being a journalist, they beat him up. He has blood around his nose.
  • A young man gets his head smashed with a bottle as the bottle breaks on the back of his head. He falls. Blood is seen.
  • The climax centres on a pub being raided by men and set it on fire.
  • Steve gets his neck stabbed with a broken bottle piece by Bovver's father. Blood is seen spurting out.
  • The final fight shows Matt running for the group and joins to continue the fight against another group. Blood is seen spitting out of men's mouths, painful screams, kicks, bruises are included throughout. Pete gets hit with a metal stick a few times. Bovver tackles his father to the ground and beats him.
  • A man reaches to Matt's sister in the car, but gets tackled by Matt. He beats Matt up. Bovver helps Matt by hitting him in the face endlessly. Bovver's father aggressively beats Pete to death. Blood is shown around his face.
  • As Steve wakes up, he is seen pulling his plugs out as his arm bleeds around.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Bovver's father violently beats up Pete to death.
  • Steve gets his neck stabbed with a broken bottle and is sent to hospital.
