Everyone remembers the last time upcoming "Men In Black 3" star Josh Brolin hosted "SNL" -- except that you probably don't realize that you remember. Tina Fey was right in the middle of a Sarah Palin sketch when the real Palin walked on stage. Later, on "Weekend Update," Amy Poehler rapped about a moose in front of Palin. Yeah, that was Brolin's episode. Last night's show wasn't as memorable, but it was similar in the fact that Brolin seemed to be a bit of an afterthought. For whatever reason, Brolin stepped out of the way and let the cast shine -- which resulted in one of the better shows of the season.

"Game of Thrones" (Andy Samberg, Taran Killam, Bobby Moynihan, Kate McKinnon) This was Samberg's finest work all season. And if in reality there turns out to be a smidgen of truth to this sketch --...

I go to a lot of shows, and art markets and auctions, and it's just interesting noticing the people who are buying art and collecting art, and their mixed motivations. It just seemed like a nice comic setup to have these two brothers, bringing together these two contemporary artists. - Director Jonathan Parker (Bartleby, The Californians) returns with a film focused on the contemporary art and music scenes of New York City, and how artists maintain passion for a creation that may be more miss than hit. Inspired by his own experiences as a musician and art collector, (Untitled) stars Adam Goldberg as frustrated contemporary classical composer Adrian, whose shows are sparsely attended while his artist brother Josh (Eion Bailey) draws rave reviews for his gallery work. The bridge between them is Chelsea art gallerist Madeleine (Marley Shelton), who both supports Josh’s work and begins a love affair...

The reason why (Untitled) is, well, untitled, is because it's a comic satire on the state of contemporary art. Aauteur Jonathan Parker (of Bartleby and The Californians previously) presents this story about a fashionable contemporary art gallerist (played by Marley Shelton) in Chelsea, New York who falls for a brooding music composer (played by Adam Goldberg). This quietly got its world premiere at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in January, and thanks to Hollywood Elsewhere (via The Playlist), we've got a first look at Shelton and Goldberg in the film. I definitely encourage indie enthusiasts to take a look. Jeffrey Wells saw (Untitled) in Palm Springs in January, and while he didn't love it, he did say: "It's vaguely Woody Allen-esque but without the schtick... And I enjoyed staring at Marley Shelton, whom I hadn't paid very much attention to before... Call this a modest breakthrough performance." Anytime...

Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star/executive producer Jeff Garlin and Jane Lynch of Best in Show fame are packing their bags for MGM's Sleepover. The project, due to start shooting Tuesday, will see Garlin and Lynch play the father and mother of Alexa Vega's character in the Joe Nussbaum-directed film. The project centers on a group of girls during the summer before high school. As one girl prepares to move out of town, her best friend (Vega) throws a slumber party for her and their friends the same night the cool chicks have their own overnighter. Bob Cooper and Chuck Weinstock are producing from a script by Elisa Bell. At MGM, the project is being overseen by Elizabeth Ingold and Stephanie Palmer. Garlin is part of the Emmy-nominated producing team of Curb, which was up for a best comedy series trophy at Sunday's ceremony. He most recently starred on the big screen in Revolution Studios/Columbia Pictures' Daddy Day Care. He is repped by ICM and 3 Arts Entertainment. Lynch most recently starred in A Mighty Wind, the third installment of the Christopher Guest-Eugene Levy collaboration that previously produced Best in Show and Waiting for Guffman. She is currently filming the indie The Californians. Lynch is repped by Halpern Management.
