The first images of Incendies, the next film by Canadian director Denis Villeneuve, has been on the web site of Lecinema.ca for three days. Furthermore, the film's release is scheduled for this fall.
Obviously, Incendies is an adaptation of a play written by Canadian playwright Wadji Mouawad. For him, this will be the second time that one of his plays is adapted for the big screen. In fact, the first time dates back to Littoral (2004), which he directed.
In Denis Villeneuve's Incendies, Lebel (Rémy Girard), a notary, reads for Jeanne (Mélissa Désormeaux-Poulin) and Simon Marwan (Maxim Gaudette), two twins, their mother's (Lubna Azabal) will. Both twins are surprised to see two envelopes: one for a father they thought he was dead and one for a brother they've never heard of.
For Jeanne, these two envelopes might help her to understand why her mom has adamantly kept her mouth...
