- Daniel McCandles: I seek out unrealized potential, and I invest in it. I see something of value, and I'm not afraid to go after it. I know you know what I'm talking about, right?
- Amy Myer: So, what I'm gonna do is, I'm just gonna date Daniel casually until I find an interim boyfriend. You know, someone to fill in a #6.
- Amy Myer: So, what time will you be picking me up?
- Peter Connor: Um, I don't know. Around 8?
- Amy Myer: Okay, does that mean 7:45 or 8:15, 8:30...?
- Peter Connor: Means around 8.
- Amy Myer: Yeah, but, are you the kind of guy that says around 8 and then you show up at 10 or...?
- Peter Connor: I'll be there - at 8.
- Bernie Myer: What happened to Daniel?
- Amy Myer: I'm trying to turn Peter into #6 so that Daniel can be #7.
- Amy Myer: Well, I'm personally glad that you dumped Peter 'cause, otherwise, I never could've claimed him as my own.
- Amy Myer: We could stage a fight or something. That way they won't be shocked when they find out we didn't last.
- Peter Connor: Who says we won't.
- Peter Connor: Well, you know, we're, uh, looking for another manager at Brighton Beach Bagels.
- Amy Myer: Really?
- Peter Connor: I'm in change of the hiring. Yeah, we're looking for somebody who's organized, punctual, has a fine appreciation for bagels - and a law degree would just clinch the deal.
- Amy Myer: [about Peter] There's just something about him. I don't know, he's... He's got this charm that sort of sneaks up on you, and then you're hooked.
- Peter Connor: You know, there are so many increadible, wonderful things that you can't plan for that just happen. That you don't put on a list. You know, it's... See, the problem with a time line is it doesn't allow you spontaneity. You know? It doesn't allow you to take chances.
- Amy Myer: I... I have taken plenty of chances.
- Peter Connor: Oh, yeah? Prove it. Take a chance with me.
- Amy Myer: You are such a good guy, Daniel. You're kind, and you're giving, and you do all the right things. But I need to be with someone who pushes me to be a better person. Someone that I can grow with. Someone's who's my partner.
