Beauty is blossoming in South America. On Sunday, Venezuela became the first nation ever to have repeat winners in the Miss Universe pageant, as Stefania Fernandez took the 2009 title during a live televised event from the Bahamas. The 18-year-old was crowned by her countrywoman Dayana Mendoza, who won in 2008. The first runner-up was Miss Dominican Republic, Ada Aimee De La Cruz. Miss Kosovo, Gona Dragusha, was named second runner-up. Rounding out the top five were Miss Australia, Rachael Finch, and Miss Puerto Rico, Mayra Matos Perez. Miss USA, Kristen Dalton of North Carolina, was eliminated when the top 10 was trimmed to five.

Learning she was stripped of her title, former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean blames the issue of same-sex marriage - and her opposition to it - for her ouster. "None of this would be happening right now if I just said, 'Yeah, gays should get married. You're right, Perez Hilton.' " Prejean, 22, told Access Hollywood's Billy Bush after he'd informed Prejean live on his radio show that she'd been dethroned. "That's the first that I've heard of it, Billy," she responded. During the pageant in April, judge Hilton asked Prejean her opinion of gay marriage. She replied that it...

Former Miss California Carrie Prejean is lashing out in the media after being stripped of her crown on Wednesday, telling Access Hollywood's Billy Bush that she's been done wrong. Pageant organization K2 Productions, with the blessings of Miss USA head honcho Donald Trump, officially relieved Prejean of her title yesterday, citing numerous instances of Prejean failing to fulfill her contractual duties. But as Prejean sees it, her ouster was delayed payback for her statement against gay marriage, which she made during the Miss USA pageant in April in response to a question from gossip monger/pageant host Perez Hilton. "It’s just because of my.

Last weekend celebrities came out in style to attend the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center's annual fundraiser An Evening with Women, and we have photos, photos, and more photos! (All photos are from Getty unless otherwise specified.)
Our L.A. Scene columnist Sarah Witness is going to cover it in more detail in her next column, but here's a quick rundown of the event.
Gina Gershon (Love Ranch, Bound) was scheduled to host, but had to back out at the last minute when her shooting schedule was changed, so Jennifer Coolidge (Nip/Tuck, Best in Show) gamely stepped in to Mc, entertaining the crowd with lines like, "a word about Mormons — what the f--k?" (pause) "I realize that was more than one word."
Jennifer Coolidge welcomes the crowd

Miss California says she has no regrets about her statement against gay marriage when Miss USA judge and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton asked her about the hot topic. But she does admit it hurt her chances for the crown.
Carrie Prejean, who was runner-up to winner Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton, in Sunday's pageant, told Fox News her stomach sank when she first heard she had picked Hilton's question. "I had a gut feeling. I knew he was controversial, and so was the question. Out of all the topics I studied up on, I dreaded that one, I prayed I would not be asked about gay marriage. If I had any other question, I know I would have won."
The beauty queen insisted she wasn't going to give a politically correct answer just because she was on national television (click here to watch). As for sticking to her beliefs, Prejean told Billy Bush,...

Perez Hilton refused to lay down the issue of gay marriage that was controversially opposed by Miss California at the Miss USA pageant on Sunday, April 19. The celebrity blogger who was made a guest judge at the event, appeared on "Larry King Live" on Monday, April 20 to address why he asked such question.
"I felt it was a very important question for me to ask," Perez explained. "It wasn't meant to be a big bomb, or a very hard question to answer for that matter. She knew she had lost because it was a bad answer."
He continued, "Miss USA should be all-inclusive. I heard very loud boos, and to my knowledge it was the first time a contestant had been booed. ...I am very glad that I asked the question, and that we are having this conversation."
21-year-old Carrie Prejean, representing California, answered a question from Perez which was:...
