This was Jonathan Brandis' final acting role before he committed suicide on November 12, 2003 at the age of 27.
This is the first version of the Gramercy Park pilot, focusing on the families and servants in a luxury NYC apartment building. ABC asked for the pilot to be re-worked and a second version, with an entirely new cast, was produced a year later. The newer version focuses on three nannies, and the children they care for.
Sixteen years prior, Jonathan Brandis and Jaleel White appeared in another unaired pilot as classmates in the Disney Channel children's series Good Morning, Miss Bliss (1987), starring Hayley Mills. Both actors were dropped from the cast when the show was retooled with a new cast members and picked up by the Disney Channel in 1988.
