Slew of deals boosts TechTV across Europe
TechTV, a cable network that showcases technology-themed programming, has embarked on a new international expansion in the United Kingdom and continental Europe. The cable service, which reaches 40 million homes, unveiled numerous international deals at the MIPCOM market in Cannes, including an agreement with the Flextech group in the United Kingdom for its documentary Future Fighting Machines, a series featuring the technology behind warfare and the vehicles and weaponry of the future. Also in the United Kingdom, Sci Fi Channel has acquired 13 episodes of Wired for Sex, a documentary series on how technology has shaped sex and relationships, including such topics as Internet dating, Web cams, in vitro fertilization and cloning. Rambler Television in Russia also has licensed Wired for Sex and Future Fighting Machines.
