Boys World, the five-piece pop girl group that blew up on TikTok in 2020, is breaking up. On Friday, the group shared an emotional video and a letter to their fans, announcing that they were disbanding, citing changes in the industry and “things that are out of our control.”
“After five unforgettable years of music, friendship and memories, we are sadly announcing the disbandment of Boys World,” read the letter. “Each member of Boys World has grown not just as artists but as sisters, learning from each other and becoming stronger together.

Enter the Nineties sleepover (and pop group) nostalgia! On Friday, girl group Boys World released their newest single, “Me, My Girls & I,” an empowering pop earworm dedicated to a bestie fresh off of a breakup, along with its pink-filled video.
The Sarah Wiseman and Andy DeLuca-directed music video sees the group’s five members — Makhyli, Lillian Kay, Queenie Mae, Olivia Ruby, and Elana — singing the track’s lyrics and engaging in choreography from inside a nostalgic bedroom before transporting to inside a club.

The girls of Boys World have the power of sisterhood to get them through anything. Nearly a year after introducing themselves with their debut EP While You Were Out, the rising girl group — comprising Olivia Ruby, Queenie Mae, Makhyli, Lillian Kay, and Elana Cáceres — is entering a new era of maturity and friendship as they release their single “So What” on Wednesday.
“We needed that time away to really figure out what we want our music to sound like,” Elana tells Rolling Stone. “We’re growing into these young women.

Is it Monday already? While you were out seeing The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Instagram helped solve the mystery of Miley Cyrus and the Disappearing Eyebrows, as well as provided a safe haven for James Franco and Seth Rogen to declare their undying love for one another.
We knew these two dudes had something special back during the days of Freaks and Geeks, but it took some stock images of the American Southwest to really drive that connection home. The two sons of Apatow wasted no time posting a spot-on parody of Kanye West’s “Bound2″ video on Monday, with Rogen being lucky enough to portray a topless Kim Kardashian. Worlds away, Emma Roberts was busy chasing down her favorite musicians at the American Music Awards, and Scott Eastwood reminded us of his relevance in the entertainment world (and that six-pack).

Ah, the holidays. Time for the sharing of cheer, the giving of thanks, and - for millions of families like mine - the marathon viewing of Hgtv.
Let's face it: being cooped up for days on end with the same group of people isn't good for anyone, and before too long with too little to do even the most harmonious of families start to resemble the Big Brother house. That's why Hgtv is the perfect holiday guest: it's less divisive than CNN, less maudlin than Christmas specials, and it's not football.
But before we settle into a 12-episode run of Property Virgins, let's admit that sometimes Hgtv, for all its pluck and know-how, makes us want to kick a hole through some newly-hung drywall.
Why We Watch It

Ten years after Pierce Brosnan’s final turn as 007, the reputation of his whole James Bond era has suffered considerably. Conventional wisdom holds that Brosnan came out the gate strongly (Goldeneye, Xenia Onatopp, “For England, James?”) but then went off the rails. His films trended silly (Tomorrow Never Dies, Evil Rupert Murdoch, “You always were a cunning linguist”) and sillier (The World Is Not Enough, the guy from Full Monty playing an invincible Russian, “I thought Christmas only comes once a year.”) When Casino Royale hit theaters in 2006, it was praised for its realism, its serious tone, its resolute unwillingness...

What struck me most about the anticipation around tonight’s episode of Supernatural — which featured an on-screen reunion between Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel alums James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter — was the number of people who claimed they were going to watch Supernatural tonight specifically for these very special guest stars.
But now that the episode has aired, I have to ask, regular and visiting viewers, was the episode worth the hype?
I think the answer will vary. As (obviously) a loyal viewer of Supernatural, the guest appearances by two actors from another of my favorite shows of all time,...

Startup Bubbli just raised $2 million in funding from August Capital, which will help it in its mission to build "the Matrix (minus the sentient AI)." What's it all about?
Bubbli's home page is mystical, to say the least. It really does say its mission statement is to build the Matrix, but there's a string of text that gives us some big clues: "Take a look in your pocket," it suggests, "You probably have a smartphone. You're looking at something that governments used to pay millions of dollars to launch into space. You presumably launched your device into your back pocket for merely a few benjamins." So we know this is smartphone-centric. But then the text goes on:
While you were out shopping: Thousands of brilliant papers have been published in computer vision about understanding the world around you through a camera chained to a workstation in a basement. The algorithms need to be set free.

What’s the craziest Justin rumor You’Ve ever heard, BFFs? Some of these are just ridiculous!
Someone’s messing with Justin Bieber. While you were out enjoying your long Fourth of July weekend, Justin was warding off attacks from hackers who used Justin’s YouTube, iTunes And Wikipedia pages to direct his fans to porn and other offensive material, the New York Post is reporting. And you won’t believe the other rumor they spread about him.
The hackers also tried to convince Justin’s fans that he was Dead with a deceiving pop-up message on his YouTube page.
Of course, this isn’t the first time an ugly rumor was spread about Biebs. Just last month “Justin Bieber syphilis” was one of the fastest-growing searches on Google. The Post reports that infamous jokesters from the online bulletin board 4chan are among those suspected of starting this nonsense.

In the “While you were out” department, the American Federation of Musicians and the studios signed a new deal . . . four months ago. But don’t feel like we’re late to the party — the deal doesn’t seem to have been reported in the Hollywood press. Talk about sotto voce. The negotiations themselves concluded in early November of last year, as I reported at the time, but it apparently took a while to reduce the deal to writing.
There are several items of note (so to speak) in the signed agreement, which runs through February 23, 2013:
* Wage increases are small by most Hollywood union standards: 1.5% or 2% per year. However, the increases in the Afm’s previous signed agreement also weren’t large by those standards, where 3.0%-3.5% have been the recent norm. Thus, it’s unclear if these numbers signify anything about the size of increases that the above the...

Home Depot 'Trading' on sponsorship deal
NEW YORK -- Discovery Networks has hammered out an expanded sponsorship deal with the Home Depot for the TLC series Trading Spaces. The retailer will replace competing chain Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse for exclusive advertising placement in the home-improvement category, in addition to providing the products and materials for constructions depicted on the series. Depot's logo will be featured both during Spaces as well as in off-channel print advertisements. Beginning in the fourth quarter of 2003, the new pact also extends the retailer's exclusive sponsorship of another TLC redesign series, While You Were Out, and creates new marketing opportunities across a wide variety of Discovery properties. Lowe's has gone on to strike an exclusive sponsorship deal with TBS for its new home-redesign series, House Rules, beginning this fall.
