Very well done!

Warning: Spoilers
I just watched this film on APTN and I will say that I was very moved and intrigued. It was like a spitting image of how life on the streets are for 2 family members who try and make the best of an unfortunate reality. I found the film to be very well dramatized since all the roles were very convincing. What really moved me was when Angel's mother came down from Prince Rupert to try and get BOTH Angel and Randy off the streets of Vancouver and back home where they really belonged up in Prince Rupert. Now for her and for any loving mother to do what she did, that takes guts and A lot OF LOVE on her part. Tina Keeper proved that's what moms who really care for their kids will do, and I was really happy with her and her role.

I'm a huge fan of Alex Rice myself and not only because she's down right sexy. She along with all other Native actors and actresses prove over and over again that they really put all their hearts, minds and souls into what they do. They really do have a passion for acting and you can tell that they don't just do it for the money either. This not only applies for this film but any film in the past, present and future.

Well.... ANYWAYS...... that's my scoop on this one. I think this one really earned a well-deserved 9 out of 10 as well as being nominated and winning the Genie and other Canadian Film Awards.

Saw this years ago, and it keeps coming back to me.

This would be on my 100 best movie list if I could just get it together to make one. I saw it years back and it just keeps coming back to me. I would love to see it again, and can't find it anywhere.

Heartbreaking but beautiful
A very interesting "slice of life." This film isn't preachy, but simply shows us life as it is. AMAZING performances - A lot of humour for a film about drugs and prostitution! Reminds us of the little funny things in life :-)

I suspect that Nathaniel Geary will be a new voice in Canadian Cinema. I think some writer directors can have problems as they are better at one thing than the other. Clearly not the case here as we have dialogue that rings so true. I would suspect some improvisation as some of the dialogue is almost too natural!

Excellent.

Excellent

This is a very powerful film that delves into the mean unforgiving streets of Vancouver's Downtown East Side.

It follows the lives of a First Nations brother and sister struggling to survive and feed their drug addictions.

I found the film to be real, gritty and true to life.

Being First Nations I empathize with the filmmaker's vision and commend the producers as well as actors and crew for making such a realistic look at our society on the mean streets of Vancouver.

I feel this is a universal story that can take place in any Canadian/American city.

I am from Prince Rupert.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm sorry, I can't sum up the words to say how bad this was. I think the only good line in the movie was, "I could send you back to Rupert". Why does everyone have herpes in this movie? Must of been that one girl who for some reason kept on getting business, despite the big wart that was on her face. The biggest reason this movie fails is because of the horrible acting. It's just downright unbelievable that some of these people were cast. Then again I suppose you can't find too many good Indian actors these days. Poor old drunken guy, humiliating himself. The casting directors should be ashamed.

If it happens to be on adrenaline drive, watch it. But for no more then 8 minutes. Otherwise you may begin to start speaking the 'slang' that is 'on the corner'.

Amazing.. Great Performances

I was strolling through the bookstore one night, and being a fan of Katherine Isabelle I spotted her face.. well half a face on the cover. I had to pick this up ! This movie was moving and very real life not like all the other fake ones out this year. Independent Canadian Movies have been better that the movies that have made theatres. The prostitution and all the drugs just made it more depressing and made you shudder at the thought that it could happen to anyone, and your living it now. Rent this movie everyone, If you are 14+ and have an open mind, step away from the new blockbuster and find this on the bottom shelf and grab it.

Canada's future if we don't change direction.

I've watched this movie several times since 2003. I've recommended it to several parents who have children involved with drug abuse and it's helped to give a reality check to people who think that drug usage is a joke. In the GTA of Ontario, I see a lot of drug usage. The entertainment industry and even some cultures seem to glorify such use and lead people down the wrong path, a path that's very difficult to get out of no matter how much you want out.

On The Corner touches on these issues and is portrayed in a raw, honest and pure way. I've also spoken to people who work at homeless shelters and drug outreach programs who say that they see the things portrayed in this movie everyday.

I highly recommend this movie!

On The Corner

This movie holds true, i think. It shows how it really is there. there is a lot of true essence ,they keep it real. I was so impressed with the acting and the filming, acting , well it' rough, but the filming. it's like it's not even a movie. i hope you all see this movie. it teaches great values and has a lot of potential. I thought buying this movie was a mistake. it took me awhile to be able to watch it and think, oh yeah OK i get it now, i see how it is, i see what is going on. for most people it does take them awhile to watch a movie so many times and get it. This movie will blow you a way that's why i gave it a ten. when you get the movie, you should go to the special features, they don't have a lot on there, but it's basically someones life changed, that's why the movie was made, to show what happened, but i think it's great way to teach people lessons and to encourage what not to do,

:::SOMETIMES THE WRONG CHOICE HAPPENS TO BE THE ONLY ONE:::. ::Please read the summary of the movie first.::
