The arrangement of waltz themes from Richard Strauss's "Der Rosenkavalier" at the end of the program was originally premiered by the New York Philharmonic in 1945. It was credited to the orchestra's principal conductor at the time, Artur Rodzinski, but was actually created by Leonard Bernstein, who was then Rodzinski's assistant.
