New comic book Wednesday has come and gone. The dust at your local comic shop has settled. An eerie silence descends as you finish reading your last superhero book of the week. Now it's time for something a little more sinister. Welcome to Bagged and Boarded: comic reviews of the sick, spooky, twisted and terrifying! Catalyst Comics No. 1 This collection of off-kilter superhero stories all focus on the end of the world. Starting on or around December 21, 2012, the three stories presented in this comic kick off with the apocalypse… and then things get weird. All of these stories are based around the heroes of previous issues of Catalyst, but you don't have to have read them to get what's going on. The first story follows a superhero who has to go through a psychic/physical/freak-out experience to possibly save the day. The second story features a young woman who...

Despite speculation that Otto Octavius' time as the "Superior" Spider-Man would be coming to an end this summer, that now seems highly unlikely as July will see the launch of Superior Foes of Spider-Man. The ongoing series will focus on Boomerang, Shocker, Speed Demon, the Beetle, and Overdrive, with the majority of the story taking place from the point of view of Boomerang (a character who recently found a lot of newfound popularity in Jeff Parker's Thunderbolts). "It's Boomerang's gang, though obviously, these characters being who they are, that authority won't go unquestioned," said writer Nick Spencer. "With the number of times Spidey's gone head to head with them, of course they're going to notice changes. In some ways, they know Spider-Man better than anyone. "A big part of this book is definitely showing you the life behind the costume," he adds. "A lot of the time we spend with them,...

Ready for a fight? Michael Jackson would've been 54 years old today, so instead of dwelling on bizarro distractions like Conrad Murray, Debbie Rowe, or the legendary La Toya, let's brawl about the one thing that will always matter about the King of Pop: the music. Time to rank his 54 best tunes, and that includes his Jackson 5/Jacksons stuff. It doesn't include his cameo vocal in Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me," however.
Can I just say how difficult it is to pick Michael Jackson's 54 best songs? I could've focused more on his Jackson 5-era stuff, but I think it's only right to give Thriller and Off the Wall most of the attention. Without further ado, here are my picks for Michael Jackson's 54 greatest songs. Your job? School me with dissent.
54. "You Are Not Alone"
53. "Will You Be There"
52. "Speed Demon"
51. "Ben"
50. "Dangerous"
49. "Why You Wanna Trip On Me...

Michael Jackson has been remixed by Nero. The dubstep act have reworked Jackson's promotional single 'Speed Demon', which originally featured on the soundtrack for 1988 film Moonwalker. The new version will be included on the upcoming repackaged collection Bad 25, which features further remixes from Afrojack and DJ Buddha. The three-cd set will include a remastered version of the original Bad album along with two discs of live (more)...

No, I'm sorry. There's no such thing as 'Crappy Movie Poster Monday' - I just made that up as an excuse to show you this really awesomely bad independent horror movie poster. Enjoy.
This is the official poster for an independent horror film called Highway 91:
What's that? Maybe I'm taking the poster image out of context? Alright then:
This pretty much speaks for itself, don't you think?
The filmmaker, on his production company's Facebook Page, asks about this DVD cover, musing "I think it's pretty much done...but should I leave the quote or take it off?? Hmmmm...."
The quote on the cover is from that paragon of grammar and journalism, Horror-Movies.ca, that also had this to say about the trailer for Highway 91: "This badboy features, zombies, bullets flying into craniums, brains exploding and of course just utter gore, you know, the good stuff." Which just proves...

One Halloween I was hunting through a Blockbuster for the perfect thriller movie; one that would be suspenseful but not too scary, sexy but not exploitative. After seeing one too many box covers featuring axe-wielding maniacs, screaming girls in bikinis, or screaming, axe-wielding maniacs in bikinis, I was about to abandon all hope; then I discovered a delightful film called Voodoo Academy.
A supernatural thriller set at an all-boys college, this film featured a suspenseful, original plot, supplemented and emphasized by a gorgeous cast of stunning young men wearing very few clothes; and after seeing this movie and thoroughly enjoying it, I set out in search of more features from the film's talented director, David Decoteau.
This Candian filmmaker has made nearly 90 films since the 1980s, and--after directing fun horror flicks like Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowlarama, he turned his attention to making horror movies for girls, such as The Brotherhood series,...

A Hollywood cinema is searching for a print of Mj's 1988 film with plans to give it a 'one night only' screening.

Michael Jackson's short-film anthology "Moonwalker" may finally get a debut theatrical screening in the United States more than 20 years after it was released.
Back in 1988, Mj first unveiled the ambitious project, which contained several long-form videos for songs off his then-just-released Bad album, including his famous 25-minute clip for "Smooth Criminal." The film had been scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters that Christmas, but for whatever reason, that plan was scrapped. The movie was released on VHS early in 1989, and — surprise, surprise — became a massive success. But now, more than two decades after its debut, one theater is planning to give "Moonwalker" a proper premiere here in the States.

All over the exclusive Michael Jackson gloves in the world won't be of much use to you without music to move them to. That's not an issue with "Michael Jackson: The Experience" after today, though, because Ubisoft has shared the complete lists of Mj tunes that are slated for playability when it comes out for the Wii, PSP and Nintendo DS on November 25 and the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with Move and Kinect support in early 2011.
A total of 27 tracks made the cut for "The Experiece," which is enough for a double disc greatest hits collection, but not overly generous in the scheme of music titles. Ubisoft may just be banking on the overall difficulty level of the moves required to play this game being hard enough to take as much time to conquer as the average dance game. They are all Michael Jackson songs, though, as you can see:
