I was happy to see that an extended version of Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight was released on Netflix. What I wasn’t expecting was that it would be split up into a four-part miniseries! Each part runs about 50 minutes long.
The four episodes are titled, “Last Stage to Red Rock” (50 minutes), “Minnie’s Haberdashery” (51 minutes), “Domergue’s Got A Secret” (53 minutes), and “The Last Chapter” (56 minutes). For those of you who don’t want to do any math, the total length of the film is 210 minutes. The original cut had a run-time of 168 minutes.
I’m not sure why Netflix decided to break it up into four parts. Maybe for people who don’t want to watch it in one sitting? This extended cut of the film was released in select theaters for a brief time, which I wish I would have been able to see, but at...

Netflix excited Quentin Tarantino fans when it announced in March that an extended version of the director’s “The Hateful Eight” would be available to stream this month. The extended edition landed April 25 on Netflix as planned, albeit with one massive surprise: The movie has been uploaded as a miniseries with four episodes each running approximately 50 minutes. The film’s theatrical edition continues to stream on Netflix as a feature film, as well.
The four episodes of “The Hateful Eight: Extended Edition” are titled “Last Stage to Red Rock” (50 minutes), “Minnie’s Haberdashery” (51 minutes), “Domergue’s Got A Secret” (53 minutes), and “The Last Chapter” (56 minutes). The first three episodes match up to corresponding chapter titles in Tarantino’s theatrical cut. The film’s second chapter, “Son of a Gun,” has been absorbed into the extended cut’s first episode. The “Last Chapter” episode encompasses the final two film chapters: “The Four Passengers” and “Black Man,...

Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain (2006) is showing on Mubi from November 12 - December 12, 1017 in the United Kingdom.“Finish it.”The exhortation is an integral part of the texture of The Fountain as a work of art, but it also refers, obliquely, maybe unconsciously, to all the toil and trouble that surrounded its six-year path to the big screen and its controversial reception. Darren Aronofsky—a headstrong filmmaker if there ever was one—could have simply shelved the project indefinitely after his original lead, Brad Pitt, bailed out prior to the start of the production. But, like the words that Izzi says to Tom and that echo throughout the film’s three interconnected timelines, he didn’t. He had to “finish it.” So Aronofsky did, regrouping, downsizing, rethinking a film that was inspired by both the out-there genre twisting of The Matrix and his own experiences with death. What emerged was...

We may have seen Alice's last ride in Resident Evil: The Last Chapter, but like the zombies that inhabit its storylines, the film franchise (based on the popular Capcom video game series) is far from finished, as a reboot is reportedly in the works.
Reporting from the Cannes Film Festival, Variety reveals that Constantin Film is developing a Resident Evil reboot, with the production company's chairman of the board Martin Moszkowicz confirming the news. Other than the fact that it's in motion, no details on the project have been announced.
The six-film franchise kicked off in 2002 with Paul W. S. Anderson directing and Milla Jovovich starring as Alice, a highly skilled survivor and former employee of the sinister Umbrella Corporation, which unleashed a zombie apocalypse that puts humankind on the brink of extinction.

Looks like our very own Tanner Zipchen has made it to the big time!
In a leaked scene from the movie Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Tanner has an acting scene with Milla Jovovich. Okay, well maybe this scene isn't officially from the movie. And maybe it was part of a promo campaign when Tanner got to interview the actress in La. But still, it's pretty cool and Tanner is a natural! (But don't quit your day job!)
The movie is the finale in the action packed franchise and this time around, Alice (Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity's final stand against the undead. Now, she must return to where the nightmare began - The Hive in Raccoon City,...

★★☆☆☆ The last chapter in his 'Modern Romance Trilogy' sees writer-director Jamie Adams and a band of British talent take to the hills in quirky, sardonic comedy Black Mountain Poets. Combining a hippy writers retreat with a shambolic Duke of Edinburgh expedition, it revolves around the uncontrollably mischievous antics of sisters Lisa (Alice Lowe) and Claire (Dolly Wells). Less than successful con artists on the run after the failed theft of a Jcb digger, the reasons for which are left intriguingly unexplained, they stumble upon the Poet's Poetry Society gathering by mistake after stealing the car of renowned verse-writing duo The Wilding Sisters. It's an oddball, meandering journey where demons must be excised, navel-gazing is more important than any physical destination and pretence must be maintained at all costs, for there is an £11,000 prize at stake.

The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films announced today that they have moved up their upcoming horror film, "Amityville Horror: The Awakening," from April 1st, 2016 to January 6th, 2017. The film is directed by Franck Khalfoun and stars Bella Thorne, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Cameron Monaghan.
Inside sources say The Weinstein Company executives and producer Jason Blum have made the decision after horror films have a good track record opening in the beginning of the year. Notable horror films that have had successful openings in January include "One Missed Call", "The Unborn", "Daybreakers", "The Devil Inside", "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D", "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones", "Woman In Black 2: Angel Of Death", and this year's "The Forest."
"Amityville Horror: The Awakening" will face stiff competition from the new "Friday The 13th", "The Split" directed by M. Night Shymalan, and Paul W.S. Anderson's "Resident Evil: The Last Chapter."

It.s finally here! The last chapter of .The Hunger Games. saga! Is .Mockingjay . Part 2. a worthy entry to the consistent series? Does it end with a whimper or a bang? Take a look at my review!

Teamed with a group of her closest friends . including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), Cressida (Natalie Dormer) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) . Another year, another film festival goes by. The 34th Vancouver International Film Festival was 16 days of intense film watching, as I tried to immerse myself in a fleeting atmosphere celebrating the some of the best of contemporary world cinema. And even though Viff may not boast the prestige or media frenzy of Cannes, Tiff, or Nyff, it does – like almost any film festival does – hold a special place in the mind of this budding cinephile. With over 350 films, it’s necessary to schedule my time according to the best films, generally award winners from previous fests.
But I try to deviate from the known auteurs and films which garnered bouquets of critical praise earlier in the year, because my favourite part of film festivals is nestling into the Pacific Cinematheque or Vancity Theatre at a sparsely populated screening, with the anticipation of seeing what could be a masterpiece or a disaster.

We haven’t yet read Jason Matthews’ novel “Red Sparrow,” published in 2013, but we should probably get around to it, given that some of the biggest movie talent around have spent the last few years sniffing around it. First, Darren Aronofsky was attached to the project, then David Fincher became involved with his regular collaborator Rooney Mara. The book sees a state intelligence officer in modern-day Russia, the role that Lawrence would play,...

Jennifer Lawrence takes on President Snow in first trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2
President Snow will pay for what he’s done in the first trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2.
The first full teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 has arrived, continuing the momentum from where we last left off with Katniss and co. as she sends a battle cry for the people of the Districts to turn their weapons towards the Capitol, squarely aimed at President Snow (Donald Sutherland).
The last chapter in the epic film franchise prepares us for the final with a battle unlike anything we – or the citizens of Panem – have seen before!
With the nation in a full-scale war, the rebel forces from District 13 attempt and assassination on Snow whose anger and obsession with Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) has reached the breaking point. More challenging than anything she faced in the Hunger Games arena, Katniss and her friends in combat are in it to the end.

The Weirding Willows Volume 1 (Titan): The literary-mashup-thing has been done many times, most often with rights-free adventure stories of the 19th century, so you can’t blame me for being wary about Dave Elliott’s Weirding Willows, which puts Alice, Peter Rabbit, Dr. Moreau, Mowgli, Frankenstein’s monster, and a slew of other classic characters into a nebulous fantasy setting. Although the backgrounds of the characters are woven together with an impressive sense of imagination, I kept saying in the back of my head, “Again?” Then there were dinosaurs. Okay, I’ll keep reading. Then there were the main characters from my most beloved novel as a child, The Wind In The Willows. You’re catching me, here. And Then… a werewolf. Sold. Done. I’m in. I never claimed not to be a sucker for certain things, and dinosaurs make everything better. 7/10

The idea of facing that which terrifies you and changing your lifestyle is not a new concept in movies, it’s been done many times before with mixed results. This is the theme of Ben Stiller’s newest film, The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, easily the most ambitious project the actor/director has ever worked on. The result is a poignant and witty comedy/drama that pleases in a variety of different ways.
Based on the short story by James Thurber, the film tells the story of Walter Mitty – a negative assets specialist at Life magazine who spends his uneventful days slipping into elaborate fantasies where he is the consumate hero. When a snide executive enters the fray (played mercilessly by a bearded Adam Scott) to usher Life from print to digital, Walter fears for his job and those of his longtime co-workers. Things are made worse when Walter...

Oh, you guys, Farrah Abraham has a serious, serious problem: she thinks we're all as dumb as she is. The last chapter in the Backdoor Teen Mom saga saw Farrah tweeting about how "Unreal" it was that her very private sex tape was somehow "leaked." Except this time, she's come up with more detailed fibs. Here's Farrah's explanation of how the tape was made:“A lot of my girlfriends who are back home … have done personal sexy shots, sexual videos … feminine things showing their sexuality and being happy for themselves. Here I am the same age or younger as most of my friends, and I’m like ‘why am I not [as] happy with myself as they are? Why am I not doing this for me?’” And see, James Deen wasn't paid because he's a porn star who did a porn film,...

A superb character actor James Woods has turned in some remarkable performances. Here are a few of his underappreciated roles...
If you're looking for an actor who's far more interested in being a character than a hero, then surely James Woods is your man. He's built up a body of work over several decades that has rightly brought him a degree of acclaim - Videodrome, the brilliant Cop, Ghosts Of Mississippi, Contact, Salvador, and his growing collection of excellent TV roles - but in the 80s and 90s, he popped up in lots of films that are rarely talked about now.
There are so many seemingly lost great James Woods roles, that it seemed long overdue we try and right that particular wrong. So here's a collection of perhaps the lower profile, yet brilliant, performances from his career. And this is just a few of them.

I honestly dont think we'll seen the end of Twilight franchise. I'm sure we might get a break from it for a couple of years, but eventually we will get another sequel or the whole series will get a complete reboot. There's just too much money to be made from this franchise, and I don't think Lionsgate is willing to give that up.
Here's a 10-second teaser that was released for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. The full trailer for the film is set to be released on on Wednesday, so stay tuned for that if for some reason you're looking forward to seeing this movie.
The last chapter (we hope) in the Twilight franchise will be released in theatres on November 16th, 2012. It was directed by Bill Condon and stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Will you be seeing this movie... against your will?...

By all means, Christopher Nolan‘s third (and final) Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, should be a slam dunk. The last chapter in the beloved franchise has been eagerly anticipated for years, and Nolan’s previous two Batman movies have been critical and commercial hits, so why is Bat-fervor feeling so cool these days? While we can’t blame today’s newest Tdkr poster for the problem, it’s certainly a symptom of something greater – the marketing for the film has not been exciting. This is not an exciting poster. Sure, it expands on that first teaser poster from last summer (a stunner in its own right), but adding in a shoddy Batman (Christian Bale) does nothing to raise pulses for what should be summer’s biggest hit (though it will be hard-pressed to match The Avengers). Perhaps the marketing team over at Warner Bros. thinks they can coast on this one (and who can blame...

After a week’s holiday in Japan, Shonen Jump is back to work and thus the continuation of the Naruto manga. The last chapter was left at a cliffhanger as Nagato was now under the full control of Kabuto and absorbed Bee’s chakra to gain his full power, grabbing Naruto and starting to pull out his soul.
These Naruto reviews will contain spoilers for those who may not have read the recent chapters and this particular review will explain what happens in this chapter.
While Nagato is slowly pulling out Naruto’s soul out of him, Naruto soon realizes that Nagato can use the same abilities and powers as all the Pains and tries to attack him with a Rasengan that Nagato quickly absorbs.
Nagato summons the Naraka Path that has the ability to revive and take away souls from people, which Kabuto is planning to use so that...

Soundtrack album of "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part I" has got an official release date. The compilation CD is set to hit the stores in the United States on November 8, ten days before the movie arrives in theaters across the country.
The songs included in the album remain under wraps, but it was reported that "Sister Rosetta (Capture the Spirit)" performed by Noisettes might make the cut. The rumor emerged after Bella's pre-wedding clip was shown at San Diego Comic-Con with the track featured as a backsound.
Last month, Evanescence revealed their hope to land their song in the album. "I've been screaming for [new song] 'My Heart Is Broken' to land in that, because I think it would fit the story so well. I got sucked into the 'Twilight' vortex by the girls at home, so by default, I've got to watch it," said drummer Will Hunt.

The fifth film in Screen Gems' popular Resident Evil franchise is getting ready to roll cameras. Shock has learned shooting on Resident Evil: Retribution is expected to begin October 10 with the production crew taking root in both Toronto, Canada and Tokyo, Japan. It's still unknown whether Paul W.S. Anderson is returning to direct, but I'm sure it is fairly safe to say he penned the script (since he has written every other entry). The film opens on September 14, 2012. Milla Jovovich will be back as Alice. Both Anderson and Jovovich have The Three Musketeers opening in theaters October 14, so they'll likely be squeezing in some promotion for that just before shooting Resident Evil . The last chapter in the series, Resident Evil: Afterlife , grossed nearly $300...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II rakes in £300m globally on first weekend, eclipsing previous UK and Us highs
Should Jk Rowling awake this week to find a gaggle of middle-aged, particularly well-groomed fans encamped outside her Edinburgh home there could be a simple explanation: a posse of Warner Bros film executives have arrived from La to beg, one final time, for another Harry Potter novel.
In an industry where there is traditionally no such thing as a surefire hit, the films of Rowling's books have, for a decade, proved the exception.
The eighth and final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, looks set to outdo even its predecessors, taking not far short of $500m (£310m) worldwide in its first few days, and beating the Us and UK records for an opening weekend.

Fresh off his big win at 2011 MTV Movie Awards, Robert Pattinson talked about "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part I" wedding when chatting at the backstage of the star-studded show. He said he didn't do anything for the big scene.
"I didn't really do much other than just stand there," Robert said with a laugh. "Which I guess is what most guys do." Wearing an unbuttoned tux, the Edward Cullen depicter indeed is featured only standing at the altar, smiling crookedly at his on-screen bride Bella when she's waking down the aisle.
"She looked amazing," the British actor gushed about his co-star Kristen Stewart. "She got to do the whole walking down the aisle and everything." And he hopes moviegoers like it like they do, "It's very pretty, very sweet," he said. "Hopefully it will be good."
In "Breaking Dawn Part I", newlywed Edward Cullen and Bella Swan grow a new family.

Just a few hours before 2011 MTV Movie Awards is kicked off, the highly-anticipated trailer of "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part I" hit the web in full. It teases the wedding scene where Edward and Bella are glowing with happiness, the honeymoon footage which gives a brief glimpse at one of the steamy shots, and the couple's shocked reaction when they found that they might be expecting a baby. It also gives a look at a furious Jacob when he first received the wedding invitation.
In the highly anticipated film, newlywed Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, and Bella Swan, portrayed by Kristen Stewart, grow a new family. Also, they face a perilous chain of events that pits the Cullens and their allies against the Volturi, the fearsome council of vampire leaders, setting the stage for an all-out battle.
The last chapter in the "Twilight" series, "Breaking Dawn" is split into two parts.

Robert Pattinson's wedding to Kristen Stewart in "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part I" has been unveiled in a super-short video. Wearing an unbuttoned tux and a white bow tie, the Edward Cullen depicter is seen standing at the altar alongside his on-screen vampire family.
He's smiling crookedly at Bella Swan as she makes her way to him. The guests, which include "Twilight" book series writer Stephenie Meyer, stand up as soon as the bride-soon-to-be walks down the aisle. Bella's hair, dress and ring are shown, but her full frame is not. It might be saved for 2011 MTV Movie Awards where the full wedding scene is set to be unveiled for the first time.
In a recent interview with MTV, Elizabeth Reaser who plays Esmee Cullen said, "The wedding scene was like a real wedding, in that it was stressful. It took a lot of planning, a lot of organization.

Aside of that, there is not much offered in the 15-second video. In fact, there is no Kristen Stewart full frame shot in the preview. However, it does reveal Robert Pattinson who is standing at the altar, while the guests are all smiling.

HollywoodNews.com: Even though fanboys and girls have ventured back to college, Sony/Screen Gems and Summit Entertainment are looking to lure them back to the cinema this weekend.
Sony/Screen Gems unspools “Resident Evil: Afterlife,” the fourth installment in a series that’s based on the popular zombie videogame. Except for the first film which was a March entry, the rest of the series has played during the September frame.
