In 1994, Warner Bros. released Oliver Stone’s film “Natural Born Killers,” about two lovers (Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis) who embark on a murder spree and are subsequently glorified by the media. Though critically acclaimed, the film immediately garnered much controversy for its violent content, later inspiring copycat murders, and later inciting a denouncement by Presidential candidate Bob Dole.

It's really surprising how much more evidence there is to be uncovered while Nazir's trial is already underway.
That's the main point I took away from The Night Of Season 1 Episode 6, and I'd like to think that I watch enough Forensic Files to know if I were ever in the same position as Naz, my attorneys would be armed with enough information to stop an invading army.
Another surprise? The District Attorney has a name. Mrs. Weiss. Apparently, she likes to be called "Missus." All this time, and I was still just calling her the Da because nobody seemed to refer to her by name. When you like to be referred to thusly, I can see why.
Does the presentation by the opposing counsel make a difference during a murder case? If so, Mrs. Weiss won't stand a chance against Chandra. Mrs. Weiss is a dour, whining woman, even when she's addressing the jury.

Takashi Miike, the director behind films such as Audition and 13 Assassins, has directed a new horror film called Over My Dead Body. The movie was made back in 2014, but it's getting a U.S. release by Scream Factory, and they just released the first trailer for it. If you're a fan of Miike's style of horror, then this is a movie you won't want to miss out on.
It looks like a strange, slow-burning kind of film that is very unsettling and extremely creepy. These kinds of films aren't for everyone, but I love horror movies like this! The ones that get under your skin and start to frustrate you a bit before the big horrific payoffs come into play.
A beautiful actress plays the protagonist in a new play based on a legendary ghost story. She pulls some strings to get her lover cast in the play, although he’s a relatively unknown actor.

With "Back to the Future" celebrating its 30th anniversary, and the recent success of various reboots and sequels to '80s and '90s films, it's natural to ponder the possibility of a remake of the 1985 classic.
To that, director Robert Zemeckis says: Over my dead body!
In an interview with the U.K. Telegraph, Zemeckis was very clear about the prospects of another "Back to the Future" film.
"Oh, God no. That can't happen until both Bob [Gale] and I are dead," he said. "And then I'm sure they'll do it, unless there's a way our estates can stop it."
Zemeckis and Gale wrote "Back to the Future" together, and the former directed it. Their contracts on the film give them veto rights over any related films for as long as they both live. That's not the case on another Zemeckis-directed movie, "Romancing the Stone," a remake of which has...

Shakira works with the Spanish fashion and fragrance firm on her scent, Rock by Shakira, and talked to Wwd about her wardrobe choices as her belly gets bigger. She also revealed that she wouldn't be giving up high heels, saying, "Over my dead body," adding, "[Gerard]'s just too tall." Deadliest Catch is welcoming Capt. Sig Hansen’s 18-year-old daughter Mandy Hansen to the Northwestern crew in the season 10 premiere of Discovery’s hit reality series.
Hansen has captained his crab boat, the Northwestern, in front of the cameras since Deadliest Catch premiered in 2005, when Mandy was barely 8 years old. In season 9, Hansen butt heads with deck hand Jake Anderson, and, with Anderson joining another crew, Hansen decided to replace him with his young daughter. Anderson later rejoined the Northwestern crew.
Crab fishing has been publicized as extremely dangerous, and Hansen admitted he took a bit of convincing before he agreed to let Mandy on the boat. Mandy has been working alongside her father every summer for the past four years, helping him transport salmon.
“So, she’s been doing that since she was, what, 14? She’s had job offers from other salmon boats. And then she said that she was going to try crabbing,...

From Amy Acker to James Frain, we celebrate Grimm’s habit of filling its supporting cast with geek favourites…
Read our look-back at the careers of Grimm co-creators David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, here.
When Grimm’s makers were looking for their Nick Burkhardt, the job was to cast someone with all the requirements of a leading man, but none of the distracting ‘wasn’t he in that other thing?’ baggage. In David Giuntoli, whose TV appearances had until then largely been confined to one-off roles in comedies and dramas including Grey’s Anatomy and Ghost Whisperer (the latter produced, not at all coincidentally, by Grimm co-creator Jim Kouf), they found their guy.
With Giuntoli in place, and a solid cast of regulars around him including Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz, Russell Hornsby, Reggie Lee and Claire Coffee, it was time to fill in the guest roles.

There's one thing you won't be seeing Meryl Streep doing at the Oscars—singing! In the upcoming movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Into the Woods, Streep sings a song specifically written for the film by the show's legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim. If nominated for an Academy Award, Streep could be asked to belt it on the big night. "Over my dead body," the acting legend says about singing at the Oscars. Darn it! Streep, who I caught up with at the L.A. premiere of her new drama August: Osage County (in theaters on Dec. 27), did ask Sondheim to sign an original music manuscript for the song. "He said, 'Sure,' and he wrote,...

Spike Lee has said that the rumoured Inside Man sequel has been shelved.
Inside Man starred Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster in a story of an elaborate New York City bank heist.
There have been reports that a script for a follow-up film has been commissioned, but Lee set the record straight in a recent chat with Vulture.
"I don't care [what it says] on IMDb. As far as I know, it's on the shelf," Lee clarified.
He added: "That's a question you have to ask the studios, the powers that be: Why hasn't that film had a sequel? They still make sequels."
Lee is currently promoting the English-language version of the South Korean thriller Oldboy, but has said that he would not allow one of his own films to be remade.
"Over my dead body! Here's the thing: [Oldboy director] Park [Chan-wook] was okay with it. I'm not," he declared.

Previously on Glee, all the awesome people in Lima, Oh started migrating away from Lima, Oh — only to be replaced by bots containing echos of their personalities. Mr. Schue went on the most inexplicable crusades for the grossest shit (the right to twerk with his students, just for an example), and not even Principal Sue Sylvester’s death glare could make him shut it down. Fed up with Marley’s disinterest in his boners, Jake got his hanky-panky on with Bree on her letter jacket under the bleachers, and so Marley climbed up on top of a literal wrecking ball and smashed some bricks through some windows and broke up with him. Also, Kurt and Blaine got engaged and never saw one another again for the rest of their lives.

In Awkward this week, Matty iterated the dreaded “sure babe” to Jenna.
Following an Awkward Season 3 premiere that left me feeling a little unsure about the overall feel of the show - Ricky’s death, Jenna’s pregnancy scare and Sadie’s social upheaval did not leave much room for humor and heart - "Let's Talk About Sex" offered some much needed assurance in those areas.
Every time we think we have a good understanding of Jenna, and everyone else, something new comes along. Jenna’s Bfgfbff double date with Tamara was not only trying to delay the talk, but also brought up differences with Matty and Jake.
Jenna never had any difficulty opening up to Jake or vice versa; Matty has never strongly opened up his feelings to Jenna verbally and this lack of communication between them is only exacerbated by the pregnancy scare and Jenna’s lingering feelings...

“Miss Conspirator” is a Korean comedy action romance directed by Park Chul Kwan, known for his popular 2001 gangster spoof “Hi Dharma!”. The film is headlined by top actress Ko Hyun Jung, star of hit television series like “Queen Seon Duk” and “What’s Up, Fox?”, here taking on a somewhat different role as a nervous, socially awkward woman who accidentally gets mixed up with gangsters and drug deals. The film also features a fine supporting cast of character actors, including Yu Hae Jin (“The Unjust”), Park Shin Yang (“The Big Swindle”), Sung Dong Il (“The Client”), Lee Moon Sik (“Battlefield Heroes”) and Ko Chang Seok (“Over my Dead Body”) as the various thugs, cops and drug smugglers making her life interesting. The film follows Ko Hyun Jung as Soo Ro, an unfortunate woman in Busan who suffers from extreme anxiety attacks as a result of a near-drowning accident earlier in her life.

Grimm, Season 2, Episode 6: “Over My Dead Body”

This week is couples night on Grimm. Juliette and Nick seem to be making some headway on repairing their relationship. Monroe and Rosalee similarly meet up for an intimate dinner a deux and discover a shared love of zither music (I am not making this up) which persuades Monroe to finally make his move.
So for a heady moment there, as Silas Weir Mitchell descends on the luscious Bree Turner, it looks like we might see someone in Grimm get lucky.
No chance.
The series is predicated on no one getting together with anyone (or this that anything?). In Season 1, Nick only had to look at Juliette with a glint in his eye for a Vesen to come crashing through the window. To be fair, Monroe did...

"Over My Dead Body" went back to telling a strictly serial story - and Grimm benefitted from it immensely.
Coming along for the solely serial ride is Angelina, who you may remember from “The Three Bad Wolves,” and she’s just as charming as ever. Sadly, even for all of Angelina’s charm, over the course of the hour it became apparent her story arc would be coming to a close rather than staying ope-ended again.
All of the talk of death and sending messages to Nick through a murdered Monroe certainly had some weight to them, and it has been quite a while since Nick and Monroe have had to deal with threats from the other side. But with no real heightened stakes prior to Monroe’s feign death, it became clear that Angelina would end up dying simply because she offered the more compelling story.

If you're a fan of "Grimm" on NBC and follow Sasha Roiz, one of its stars, on Twitter, then you know all about the #ShirtlessRage campaign to get NBC to air a deleted scene that features him. We have all the details here... along with the newly released scene.
The After Elton site summed it up best:
A scene from the "Over My Dead Body" episode ended up on the cutting room floor, and the writer, Spiro Skentzos, turned to social media to get the scene seen. The campaign was not about his ego but rather the importance of the scene because it fed into the heavy mythology of the series. The fact that the scene also happened to include Roiz, one of the show's sexiest stars, sans shirt and in bed with guest star Alice Evans was just an added bonus for his fans.
Disappointed that the scene had been cut,...

Nick (David Giuntoli) and Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) may be going through a rough patch (amnesia will do that to relationship) on "Grimm," but Monroe and Rosalee's romance is heating up.
So Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) doesn't exactly welcome the return of Angelina (Jaime Ray Newman), a fiery Blutbad with whom he shared some wild nights in the forest.
And as you can see in the clip from the upcoming episode, "Over My Dead Body," exclusive to Zap2it, he's especially upset because Angelina has been hired to kill him.
Who wants Monroe dead, and why? Tune in to "Grimm" on NBC Friday, Oct. 5, to find out!

Korean cinema loves a good caper, and with “Over My Dead Body”, audiences get just that, as a wacky cast of oddballs try to get their hands on the corpse of a cheating company president who has a valuable microchip secreted under his skin. The complex comedy was written and directed by first-timer Woo Sun Ho, and was apparently inspired by a random thought at his grandfather’s funeral as to what would happen if the body disappeared. Fittingly, the film has an eccentric cast, headlined by the trio of popular stars Lee Beom Soo (“The Righteous Thief”), Ryu Seung Bum (“The Unjust”) and actress Kim Ok Bin (awesome in Park Chan Wook’s “Thirst” and here sporting a punkish pink hairdo), and proved surprisingly popular at the Korean box office, beating off competition from several other more high profile releases. The pandemonium begins with lab researcher Hyun Chul (Lee...

Comedy is a curious beast even at the best of times. Across the world's national film industries, thrillers, horrors, romances and action films share many common elements, while comedy tends to be fall in line with indigenously codes. I've said it before but it bears mentioning again: for foreign viewers, Korean comedies are a tricky proposition. Dialogue-based humor is often lost in translation and societal quirks, idiomatic expressions, customs and cultural references further complicate our relationship with these works. My knowledge of Korean is steadily rising (and had a big bump during PiFan) so I'm starting to see things that I may have missed out on before and Over My Dead Body, which was presented in the World Fantastic Cinema section is proof of this but...

New "America's Got Talent" judge Howard Stern held court in an hour-long press conference at the New York Friars Club Thursday afternoon, answering an onslaught of questions about his impending return to the cultural mainstream (new season premieres Mon., May 14, 8 p.m. Et on NBC) after a six year stint behind a paywall at SiriusXM Radio.
Stern discussed coming back to work with NBC after the highly contentious chapter of his radio career that was dramatized in his biopic "Private Parts," then ripped on his competition in the reality talent show arena, explaining why he saw "Agt" as a perfect fit for his skills.
Stern On NBC ... Again
To hear Stern tell it, the days of overbearing NBC executives trying to reign him in are long gone. In fact, he insisted that now -- older, wiser and stepping into a family show -- he's doing much of reigning in himself.

Recently at CinemaCon, Amy Miles, the chief executive officer of Regal Entertainment, birthed the idea that movie theaters should maybe consider allowing texting at certain types of movies – basically movies that asshole teens would most likely be seeing. With great and obvious reasons, everyone got up in a tiff over the statement. Tim League, CEO of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, which has a famously hard-line stance against phone usage during screenings, responded appropriately: “Over my dead body will I introduce texting into the movie theater.” Granted, if you text during a movie, you’re an asshole, but is it really the worst thing in the world? Yes. And no. In one instance. No, not an emergency, death, or ordering a pizza. There is maybe one instance where I think texting in a theater could be appropriate – if that were the entire point of the screening. I’m not the first one to think of this, but...

A valiant show from Aardman's second Sony collaboration lands it a spot behind the same studio's top-ranking romcom

Well if last month's Open Forum Friday was any indication, people have some pretty strong opinions about the use of cell phones in a movie theatre. At the time, The Hollywood Reporter had just released a study indicating that many moviegoers would actually be in support of allowing cell phone use, but most Film Junk readers and movie fans around the blogosphere were vehemently against it. Now this week the debate continued during a panel about industry issues at CinemaCon. Many theatre owners are saying that they are afraid to do anything that will discourage teenagers from going to the movies, and that includes prohibiting cell phone use -- in particular, texting. Will we start to see more theatre chains relax their rules restricting mobile devices or will they continue to do the right thing and preserve the moviegoing experience? Deadline reported on the panel discussion and the "lively debate...

Texting has long been a source of ire in the world of moviegoers, but now some theater owners and executives are considering giving up the fight on some fronts. Regal's CEO said at CinemaCon yesterday that her chain might "test some of these [text-friendly] concepts" during certain young-skewing movies, and she was met with plenty of unhappy responses, including one from the CEO of the famously anti-texting Alamo Drafthouse. ("Over my dead body.") But don't enough people already text during movies that it might be nice to corral texters into one room, leaving the rest of the screenings nice and dark? Do theaters, other than the aforementioned Drafthouse, even really enforce a no-texting policy as it is? Aren't there far worse movie-theater sins than texting?...

During a panel about industry issues at the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures' Jeff Blake started off the discussion by stating that twenty years ago kids would go to movie theaters every week, but not anymore. Amy Miles, CEO of Regal Cinemas, said that her company currently discourages cell phone use, but there have been internal discussions about removing the ban for some movies. "If we had a movie (like '21 Jump Street') that appealed to a younger demographic, we could test some of these concepts," she said. "You're trying to figure out if there's something you can offer in the theater that I would not find appealing but my 18-year-old son might." IMAX's Greg Foster backed the idea, stating that his 17-year-old son "constantly has his phone with him. We want [kids/young adults] to pay $12 to $14 to come into an auditorium and watch a movie, [but banning cell phones may make them] feel a little handcuffed.

This doesn’t hold a lot of promise. Variety reports that Andy Fickman has been hired to direct Over My Dead Body, a U.S. remake of the 1995 German comedy Nur über meine Leiche. The movie follows a womanizer who ends up in Hell after dying and strikes a deal with the Devil himself: if he can fix the broken hearts of three women whom he wronged while he was alive in three days, he will be allowed a second chance at life. TV writers Jeremy Miller and Dan Cohn (HBO’s Entourage, the ABC show That Was Then) have also been hired to pen the screenplay (the 1995 original was written by Rainer Matsutani and Sebastian Niemann).
While Over My Dead Body doesn’t have the worst (or most original) premise in the world, Flickman’s resume is insanely spotty (The Game Plan, She’s the Man, You Again, Race to Witch Mountain...

Remember the Kristen Bell/Odette Annable comedy You Again? Well, that film's director, Andy Fickman, has just signed on to direct a remake of a German comedy called Over My Dead Body. Variety describes the comedy as following a self-centered womanizer who dies, goes to Hell, and makes a deal with the Devil. In order to have a second chance at life, the ladies' man must heal three hearts he's broken in three days. Granted, I didn't actually see it, but doesn't the Matthew McConaughey romantic comedy Ghosts of Girlfriends Past have a plot very similar to this premise? Not quite similar enough, I guess. More below! There's no word on casting quite yet, but we know that Jeremy Miller and Dan Kohn are going to be responsible for adapting the English version of the screenplay. These guys were consulting producers on three episodes of "Entourage" and have written a...
